Provided that the bank account that the original payment was made from is still open, the bank will be able to see that the card number the refund is being sent to was connected to the account in question and should accept the payment and credit it to the account.
  • Did you actually get anything back?
I have a 78 year old relative, Widow, lives on own, clinically vulnerable. She hasn't been out since March 2020.
She was getting frustrated - she has Sky, Netflix and amazon prime. Has a LG TV and couldn't get the remote to work the Amazon Prime setting.
She typed a question on Google and got transferred to this mob.
They asked her to fill in a question and pay £5 for an expert to help.
She typed the question and the tech asked her for the model.
She said she needed to go back downstairs to find it
    he then eventually hung up
    She forgot all about it
since April 2020 they have been debiting her credit card £35  - I who am compus- mentus understand that a free trial is never free?
She however just thought the nice man was trying to be helpful
She pays on a credit card for all her memberships and clears via the bank monthly.
She then realises that they have been claiming this for 13months.
I try and ask for sympathy but none coming
She really cant afford this and the interest that it has created.
    Any suggestions

Suggest Consumer Rights board for a question .

  • Also - for my question sent to a 'solicitor', I received TWO answers and they were completely contradictory! (essentially, one said 'Yes' and another 'No'). I was then told to discuss in person via phone call, which would cost £44, even though they were already charging me £50 a month for membership! Presumably they give two answers to confuse people so they end up paying another £44. The site needs to be shut down.

The website needs to be avoided.
If there are no takers to pay the membership fee, it will not be financially viable.
That's the way to get it 'shut down'.

Did you bother to read the posts on page 1?
  • Don't stand for it ! I have just successfully had 4x£50 charges refunded after the first two refusals under the 'terms and conditions' small print argument. The 3rd strongly worded letter pointed out their obfuscation at every opportunity to be clear about what I was 'signing up' for. I think the clinching argument was that new UK legislation  under the Digital Marketers and Consumers act 2024 nails this as a SUBSCRIPTION TRAP.  Under the new act they may be fined under the CMA for up to 10% of their worldwide annual turnover. I threatened to pursue legally under this and have now been promised full £200 refund, hopefully back to my credit card next week. If I don't update here, I WON. Good luck to you to do the same.
  • Update....all £200 refunds received today....DON'T ROLL OVER....KEEP COMPLAINING AND THREATENING THEM !
