Hi my auntie died and left no will so the estate will be split between surviving 6 siblings. The 2 executives are my uncles can they legally withhold any of the inheritance due to the beneficiary and not pay them the equal share due ?

Whoever applies for the letters of administration has to follow the intestacy rules. That isn’t optional.
Will the estate be big enough to need probate? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
have they said why they are not intending to pay equal shares?
Also you say "6 surviving siblings" - are there any who have died? if there are then their children will take their share.0 -
Yes as he owned a property there is though a disagreement with the house sale so I need to know if they can say we are not paying you your full share?
Ie keeping thousands back0 -
Yes 6 surviving siblings0

they can make interim payments out of the estate while the final parts of the estate are finalised, keeping back some money to pay bills but they should pay the full amount when they have finalised the estate0

I am concerned that they will say we are not paying you and split our share between them selvesFlugelhorn said:have they said why they are not intending to pay equal shares?

To confirm: auhtie died with no will, no children, and no husband. She had 6 brothers & sisters who all survive.
If so the estate should be divided equally between those 6 when it has been fully sorted out and all debts, taxes etc have been paid. An interim payment may be possible.
It may help if you said more about what actually happened.

Yes that is correct 2 brothers are executors I am concerned that they are not being honest as we have had no contact from them except one email to say house is sold which I have since found out it is one of their children. I am concerned that they are not going to share it equally between the 6. What I need to know is can we ask to see all evidence of what/how the estate is worth etc?0

I'd also be querying the amount the house sold for, if it's been sold to family.
Did they pay full market price? How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)3
