The presents for the family go under our tree but the rest my son sleeps beside most nights blissfully unaware. We have a walk in cupboard in our bedroom and they all go in there. Our bed is pushed up against it so the kids can't get into it. Most nights my DS (3yrs) will join us around 3am and sleeps inches away from them.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

My husbands 'big one' is also in there though it hasnt got a tag on it yet and he thinks it's a presents for our DD. ;);)

Somebody may be able to help me ,has anybody found a way of stopping a toddler from trying to open wrapped gifts that are under the tree?

I love seeing all the wrapped up gifts under the tree but this year don't think it is going to happen.

I even tried wrapping some empty boxes with him to pass an hour this morning and made a big thing of them being "empty" turned my back to make lunch and he shouted SURPRISE , and duly unwrapped empty box ...

    Any ideas ?

I'm sorry but have no idea at all. I've three grown up children and four grandchildren and still have never come up with 'how to beat the toddler' at this one! My way has always been to only put stuff under the tree when the visitors are due to arrive - saves so much aggro and re-wrapping!

You could try telling him that Santa says not to mess with them or he'll get nothing on Christmas morning. I know that smacks of lies and bribery - but isn't that what Christmas and kiddies is all about? Be good or you'll get nothing! Go to sleep or he won't come! If you're naughty on Christmas Day it'll all go back on Christmas Night! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Sometimes store the boys stuff at relatives, new house has an understairs cupboard which is now full and you can't close the door properly (sofa is in front of it)

DPs well he's taller than me, so sometimes I use the pouch under the sofa, it's a zip open bit where the feet were when it was delivered. Only me cleans under it so he never finds it.

All the presents at the moment are either under our bed or in the wardrobe. The wardrobe is packed full though so thank god I have finished.

I am going to get some of the familys presents wrapped and put them on top of the utility cupboard I think so we can actually have some clothes in there.

Oh I forgot to say, I hide OHs presents in the cleaning cupboard under the sink. He has never found them once.

I used there until he started stealing my cleaning stuff to clean his car with  only time he ventures in there. Suppose I could use the baking cupboard...

For the past few years I have left the big case from our hols in oct in our bedroom and put my nosy teenager's prezzies in there and kept it locked. She does not have a clue! Then put it away in Jan.One year when she was younger and I got her a tv/combi I had no where to hide it so I wrapped it up and sat the xmas tree on it. She had no idea it was staring her in the face for 3 weeks to xmas. :rotfl:

I store the big stuff round at my OH's house, some are under teenies bed (littleys presents) and the rest in the drawers under my bed which is a new one so nobody knows they're there lol.

The few pressies I have at the moment are in a suitcase at the end of my bed. It's got spare bedding in it, so I have slipped the pressies into pillowcases, placed at the bottom of the suitcase and then put the other bedding on top.

It was my DD's 9th birthday on 27th Nov and she asked me where I hide the pressies (as if I'm going to tell her)....because she said she'd looked under my bed and they weren't there! So I just casually said, well there's no room under my bed anyway. She thinks that I use the garage. I have another empty suitcase in my room and noticed that someone had been looking in it as all the zips were open.
So to everyone who thinks their kids don't look....I bet they do. I know I did and I never told my parents. Only found the pressents once!
