So I've just made 80 calls and usually it says I've used all my entries but today it's now giving me an engaged tone is this normal or have I been banned?1

It is more the fault of the phone line rather than being banned. I've had the numbers go engaged, get a LINE BUSY message and disconnected for an hour or so, the automation breaks up even though my signal strength is fine; when I press 1 to confirm the number, sometimes the keypad does not respond to the call which means I have to start the process all over again.jimsilvo said:So I've just made 80 calls and usually it says I've used all my entries but today it's now giving me an engaged tone is this normal or have I been banned?
This why I'm wondering why so many entries at once exist as the constant calls to the same number (even if there are multiple) strains the capacity, so problems for users will exist.
If most entrants call to the maximum, then everyone is on the same level. But for those who lead busy or demanding lives, 80 call entries is very disadvantageous and long-winded, especially if no one is told how many entries it is each day (magic radio never details this). And with the problems listed above including the engaged tone, some people might not even reach the maximum entries even if they have the time for it.From an ergonomic and business perspective, it makes more sense to cap the entries to 3-5 each day. More people would be inclined to enter since it is more accessible and direct. They may even get a boost of entries too.
But a tip for anyone trying to get to 80 calls if it is not known all ready: when the automated voice says "Thanks for..." press 1. This skips over the "calls may be charged" spiel and goes straight to reading your number out. Instead of waiting nearly 1 minute for one entry, you could get 2 done per minute.3 -
I had this yesterday as well so maybe it's a new thing that's been introduced.jimsilvo said:So I've just made 80 calls and usually it says I've used all my entries but today it's now giving me an engaged tone is this normal or have I been banned? Thanks to all who post competitions.

Doesn't appear to be an issue with the customers that count, for the paid routes which from the business point of view is what matters - offering 50 entries for £20 instead of 20 for £20 online is no real extra "workload" for the system even if it does generate some extra calls (or when there are several texts for the price of 1)1 -
When you reach your limit, the next call tells you that. If you dial again, you get the engaged tone, or at least, that's what happens with me. So perhaps you got the 'limit reached' message and didn't hear it, then dialled again?jimsilvo said:So I've just made 80 calls and usually it says I've used all my entries but today it's now giving me an engaged tone is this normal or have I been banned?

hate it when its loads of entries, i might have been tempted to do a paid entry but if i cant get through while doing the free ones why would it be any easier with a paid entry? wish they would cap them to 20, 80 is well annoying when you cant get though after just doing a few2

15 minutes and I've not been able to get a single entry in. I'm assuming the lines are overloaded, perhaps for lunch break. Just dials then ends. Far from reaching 80 entries, too.3
