Thank you! I didn't enter today but I had entered on Friday which made me think. I've been getting between 1 and 4 spam calls every day from entering competitions so I just assumed it was spam again but I suppose given the time I shouldn't take the risk next time.
I don’t know what sort of comps you enter to get spam calls, I have never had spam calls from entering competitions only ones that say congratulations you have won.
Over the years I've noticed a correlation between the times when I'm entering lot's of competitions and spam calls and then the breaks I take and I receive none. Could just be unlucky but someone seems to be selling on my info.

I rarely receive spam calls (maybe one every few months) and they're not linked to entering competitions as I receive them when I haven't been entering for a while.

I have had instances of spam calls after entering competitions too. It probably depends on the competition entered. But if the competition company sold every phone number received to third parties, no one would ever enter; so they probably take a security guard's mentality by only occasionally searching and selecting a few numbers that enter at a time to sell - especially if they need a monetary boost for whatever reason at a certain time.

I recently got a mew number in April just for personal contacts. My old number, where the contract ran out, works as the crash dummy for when silly little websites think it's appropriate to text you login codes to your phone when this is what your password is for, and not the purpose of a personal phone number. I also still use it for strangers and new companies to contact me until I know they're legit without selling my data. But I've been using my new number to enter Make Me a Winner instead of my old one, and no spam calls yet. If I do get any in the future, then the comp has sold my number to a third party as my new number has not been used for communicating with other companies as of yet.

However, many will agree or disagree if the comp does sell your number to spam companies, but being ultimately right or wrong is not the main point. At the end of the day, if you give your number out, you truly don't know how it's being treated on the other side despite any terms and conditions a company has - there are always loopholes for companies to extort. You only ever use your number at your own risk.

In 15 years of entering competitions (over 10 years of that entering lots) I have received zero spam calls as a result of entering competitions (I am selective about what I enter and trying to win say a sheet of toilet paper is not for me). There are of course "random dialler's where the number called has not been given by anybody.
