They prefer to reward the entrants who can afford paid entries and to make these same entrants richer by winning. For the millions who struggle financially and need to enter for free, they'll make them jump through unnecessary loopholes.This the way it's been for centuries between the rich and poor.

But the idolisation comment is obviously speculation on my part. Who knows what happens behind the scenes where the entries are collected, stored and selected.

Makes zero difference to them if the winner uses a free or a paid entry. All they need is enough paid entries to keep giving them a (very) handsome profit.

Again for the second time: this post does not state that paid entrants win easier than non-paying entrants. I hope people will think about what they're reading before their fingers hastily stomping their keyboard instead of trying to go off on tangents by making a mountain out of a molehill.

The number I usually use is getting a 'sorry the competition isn't open' message. But from an email they sent about it, I tried a different number and that is letting me enter. That number is: 0330 880 4682

It's a different competition, there is no phrase to speak just pick up the phone if you get the call.

I've just started my entries using the number 0330 880 4594, and so far is going through fine. How is it for you now?

Still not going through. Must be a problem with my phone. Managed to get some entries in earlier in the week.
