Bauer gets knuckles rapped for not mentioning it every time that entries roll over

    https://radiotoday.co.uk/2023/02/bauer-argues-against-licence-breach-for-network-competition/

I'm not sure I understand that article....

It seems to be suggesting that entries carry forward 'within the competiton period' even when someone wins !!!
The terms normally seem to quote a 'period' as a week (for the draws on a Monday thru Friday), so if I make 10 calls a day does that mean I have 50 entries in the Friday draw even if it was won every day?

If that *IS* the case, then I've NEVER heard them mention that on Greatest Hits, yet Bauer are in trouble for 'only' mentioning it 11 days in 30 on Kiss.........

Although a judgement from this year this is from a previous incarnation of MMAW (from 19 April to 29 July 2022) when for a while the competition was run as entries stayed in it from when they were made to the end of it but you could enter the full daily allowance everyday, now it's just when there is a rollover the entries stay in but you can still enter the full allowance every day

    Thanks for the clarification.

I used to enter on-line back then - but I still don't remember ever hearing that entries stayed in for the week.
But I do remember kicking myself just before 3pm on a semi-regular basis when I remembered I hadn't entered - and it wasn't something I could do while at work!

From the t&cs back then (On air they mentioned full t&cs on line every time but they didn't specifically mention this bit)

Irrespective of whether there has been a winner for a Draw or not, all entries from the completed Draw, and any previous Draws, will automatically be eligible for the next Draw. Entrants do not need to enter again in order to be eligible but are able to do so if they would like to increase their chances.

Wasn't just for the week it was the full length of the competition (months)

rang twice and then went straight to voicemail, no winner today

    £85,000 tomorrow quintuple rollover
In case your call goes to voicemail, you could always change your greeting to “Make me a winner”. 😂
They've covered that in the Ts and Cs - that would disqualify you:

If there are no words spoken (according to the studio’s audio recording) or the call goes to voicemail, even if the pre-recorded voicemail messages starts with the Winning Phrase, this will be judged as a failure to answer and no prize will be awarded.
    It was a joke. 😂
I did think it might be but thought it was worth clarifying in case anyone didn't realise and tried it.....

    hi all

new here, just wondering if anyone knows roughly how many entries are received per day for this competition?
Baur listenership is around 20mil, if 5% enter a couple of txts that’s 1mill people x2, if say 100k people enter full 42 times that’s 4.2mill call it 6 million entries a day to your 42 equals around 150,000:1 odds. Lol.

Even if the odds were as low as 50,000:1 you’d have to play every weekday for 190 years to get a win.

Well either way it’s much much better that the lottery! :)
Thanks for the insight, although i think 5% is to high, that would mean they would be taking in 2million a day if they just entered once, not including the free entries.

Im not sure on the viewing figures for ITV but if they had 40,000000 entries over a year for their competition then thats about 833,000 a week so 166,000 a day if my maths is correct, assuming the competition was run every week day for a year.

If only there was a way to find out.

That was the figure from several years ago and from comments in the accounts since it had increased - more recently the  entries increased even further during covid when more people were at home to see the daytime shows (dropped back a bit when "normality" returned).
This was also just paid entries so not including the extra entries from 3 for 2 or free postal entries - so the total entries are likely to have been 60,000,000 plus. The competitions now generally have bigger prizes, run for several weeks and in some cases across several shows (Real Deal was a daily prize in the thousands now it can be several weeks for tens of thousands, Tipping Point is similar).  They were already likely to have over 1.1 million entries a week, I suspect it is somewhat higher than that now (rightly everything about the business model is to maximise income)
