This has turned in to a farce. OP is very selective with which questions are answered. Is it time for the popcorn
He'll be the gift that keeps giving, but I bet he gets it sorted with the refund of the millennium.

It all started to go wrong when OP was first questioned.  I stated I was taking a devil's advocate approach (because the dealership are very likely to counter OP's complaint) by asking whether OP had looked at the service and MOT records before buying.  That triggered something and he's been angry with almost everyone since.  I understand his annoyance with having bought a taxi and having not been told (and having not done some basic checks himself), but it's clear he only wants answers that fit with his own view, despite the answers and opinions to the contrary actually being helpful in rehearsing the arguments the dealer might put up to dispute his claim.

    Still, it's been entertaining.

I have read all of this thread and I am very confused.

Not sure what the OP would like as a remedy to the situation - I think the OP is asking what the remedy should be?

However, I don't understand why there is a situation anyway.
The OP has purchased a £30k Mercedes with 2 previous owners, but model and age / mileage at purchase not confirmed in the thread.  The OP has been very happy with the car for a year.  The OP has now discovered that the vehicle was previously used as a minicab.  I suspect, therefore a black S-Class or, outside chance, V-Class.

The OP is not happy with the fact the vehicle was previously a mini-cab and therefore wants some recompense.

I genuinely do not understand why being a former minicab is a reason to like the car less or for the value of the car to be lower.  Indeed, I suspect the majority of these vehicles are minicabs at some time in life.

I am also surprised that, if this was an important factor for the OP and, given the type of vehicle, the question was never asked prior to purchase.

Quite simply, because it was not at all important until the prospect of getting some money back occurred to OP.   He didn't even check the MOT history.  Now, it's crucial.

I personally love the transition from an OP that isn’t sure what’s what to someone bitterly arguing against those whose advice they’ dislike and stating they're wrong

Which is precisely why I stopped commenting on the OP's posts and it's  obvious that they only wanted to hear from people that agreed with them.

Basically, the OP doesn't want different opinions, they want to read their opinion posted by different people.

Having done some basic research, about 20% more than the going rate, so I'm going elsewhere.

That's a really ignorant reply. The Retailer lied to me about the previous ownership and previous the use of the car, are you here to help or just to give your life some king of importance by trolling ?
