Is that your ISA? Depends on the time horizon you are looking to withdraw. If u don’t need the funds for 10+ years, 100% equities is recommended. If it’s pension, all equities recommended until 10 years before your retirement.doe808 said:
80% of my holdings are in Vanguard 80:20, which I thought was reasonable. The rest are in smaller satellite funds. Happy to be advised if this seen as inapproptate these days as a strategy (late 30's, no dependents, overpaying mortgage and into pension)Thrugelmir said:
An active fund isn't tracking the market though. You would need to hold a passive investment of some kind to achieve that.doe808 said:
And the odds are it will fall further. but at 5% of my portfolio, and not being a person who can time the market, I can live with this. Back in the day we were down circa 60% off highs at one point.Thrugelmir said:
Only 27% fall so far off peak share price so far. It's only money so who cares.doe808 said:1 -
Highly unlikely that the most heavily traded stock in the world should be excluded from any index (S&P500 and Nasdaq here) but the sheer volume in Tesla is disconcerting for the whole market, at least to me. Yesterday $46 billion of stock was traded. To put that is perspective, a year ago, Tesla was valued at c $100 billion.0
