All looks perfectly believable for your property/ radiators/ towel rails.
It has been warmer since yesterday so the reduction was to be expected as well.

That’s what I mean, we’ve only had one really cold week since may. So the reading today will have been similar to before the cold spell last week and then before that in summer/autumn the reading would have been lower still. If I wrote off last weeks high numbers would having 7m3 gas and 7kw electric since may add up to £2800 ish? Sorry for the questions

I’ve just had a quick work out.

If I said I was using 10kw per day of electric @17pence per kw plus 20p per day over 270 days if comes to £513

if I said I was using 7m3 of gas per day at 3.8p per kw (roughly 77kw) its works out at £3 per day. Over 270 days £830ish

roughly £1345 minus the £36 a month I’ve been paying works out at £1000ish in debt. How do you think they’ve got to £2800 since may

Does this sound about right? Or is my maths off? Thanks

Unfortunately your maths are indeed off.  You should be using the difference in actual meter readings, not some estimate which may be wildly inaccurate.  You're also confused about the difference between power (kW) and energy (kWh).
You also have a very expensive gas tariff.

Ah right, oops! What’s the difference between them both?

There are handy calculators which will convert to Kwh  for you.
    Gas units to kWh (mycosts.co.uk)
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

A two-bar electric fire has a power rating of 2kW (kiloWatts).
If you use it for three hours you will have used six kWh (kiloWatt hours) of energy.
Think of power like speed and energy like distance.  If you speed for while you'll travel a long way.
This calculator will work out the cost from the volume of gas used.

Alternatively, Watts tell you the level of consumption at any one point in time (think of the rate at which a hose is filling a pool). kWh (or Watt hours for smaller volumes) equate to the amount of water in the  pool.

Also you said you had your bungalow refurbished and redone. Was this before or after May 2020? Always need to consider the workmans tools, lights, power tools charging etc will add to the electricity consumption during that period.
