Extremely high gas bill

No, there’s no underfloor heating or halogen. All the spotlight/pendants are led. We do have one of those boiling hot taps. Do they sap electricity? I read a few things before having it installed and it said they are more efficient than a kettle?0

Unlikely to be more efficient than a kettle (unless you fill it to the brim every time just for a single cuppa) because it's leaking expensive electric heat 24/7. Think of it like a dripping tap clocking up on a water meter.gazb_2 said:We do have one of those boiling hot taps. Do they sap electricity? How much of the bungalow is in daily use? Is it just the three of you in there with more than a towel rail each or more? If you can, it would be worth shutting the doors to some rooms and turning the radiators right down if you haven't already.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

So I’ve got the last 3 days worth of readings. The gas is
mon 18m3
tue 17m3
wed 14m3
electric
mon 14kw
tue 8kw
wed 9kw
do these seem normal? And would that add up to my account being £2800 in debt since may. We’ve being paying £36 a month from may until this month.
many thanks0 -
Elec is very average - heading for 3,500 kWh a year by the time lower use in Summer is taken into place. inc VAT about £600 a year - £50/month which makes a mockery of the £36.
Gas is about 20,000 kWh - again taking into account Summer. Also about £600/700 a year -
Combined averaging about £100/110 a month. And yes explains the debt.
Keep on track of your bills and read those meters !

gas sounds about right to me if the thermostat is set to 20 in a bungalow, do the radiators ever turn off?0
-
I’ve been doing the meter readings last week when it was really cold. This week (today) the we’ve only used 7m3 and electric 7kw. Last week was the only cold week all winter! I can’t understand how we’ve gone from being in credit in may to £2800 in debt as of last week when. Does this sound about right or do I need to investigate?0
-
The amount you're been paying is ludicrously low, so you could easily be £1k behind. But it depends on your tariff's prices.0

7m3 and 7kwh are not very consistent with the figures you on Feb 10th. Assuming the gas drops right off in the summer thats about 20,000 a year (£600) and elec 2500 (£400)gazb_2 said:I’ve been doing the meter readings last week when it was really cold. Could you give us the actual meter readings please rather than your calculated totals.
