Oh, my Amazon limit started around £3k I believe but that was a couple years ago. It's now £8500. So they give increases if you manage your account properly.
As a matter of curiosity (or, if you prefer, nosiness), did you request your increase(s), or did NewDay offer it/them? How long after opening the account?

Enjoy your Need, whilst I know of low paid workers, minimum hours, being offered ridiculous Limits.
    p.s. Including myself 🙄
£3750 is hardly ludicrous, even on minimum wage.

If you can't control yourself, don't get a credit card. But spending £3750 on a credit card, even on minimum wage, isn't ludicrous either.

They increased initially to £5.5k after 7 months I think it was; then I requested an increase (last year) via the app for a £8k purchase on Amazon (wife embroidery machine!!)

I entered £8500 as the limit and just got a yes - available immediately message. Logged off / back on and it was showing as £8500 available.

I don't think it searches you when you do a manual request online. It says yes or no. That's about all really. Try it. You'll see a success or a "we can't increase just now" message.

Funnily enough I've just logged in and increased to £11400 from the £8500.

I entered £15000 and it said no but we can give £11400 so I just clicked to accept that.

Nonsense! My available credit showing on Credit Karma sits at £164200. My overdrafts add up to another £76000.

I owe zero (well £47 on my Sainsbury's card)! So the temptation for me to do a runner is always there, but my common sense tells me it's not wise to follow the temptation. Much like my super fit neighbour really! 😂

I'm still in my first six months, so there's no point in asking right now - they explicitly say "Please note we are only available [sic] to consider your request for a credit limit increase if you have held your account for at least six months." In any case, as I said upthread, I don't have any need of an increased limit. I was just curious to know how NewDay operated.

    Thank you for your reply.

Starting to see 0% 6 mths Balance t/fers and seperate Money t/fers.
    Both 0% 6 mths 3.99\% fees.

Though I'm going to need another 2-3 months to clear of Kensington Dock and smaller purchases.
Quite happy as card only opened Feb 21'

    thanks

  • When I got my card in Jan 2020, as part of a promotion that netted me a free £25, my credit limit was £1,200 for the first twelve months and no cashback opportunity.

Jan 2021, New Day changed my card to the Amazon Platinum, so I could now earn cashback, but kept limit at £1,200.

July 2021, and credit limit still £1,200, with no sign of an increase being offered (without asking).

Not too concerned as have other credit cards with much higher limits, and I don't use the credit facility to its full potential as I pay each card off in full every month.

Of my other four cards though, only one has applied an increase and, strangely, is the one I use the least as no cashback on it any more.
