Amazon card initial limits

I'll need reason to become permanent Prime Member, the home essentials I've had on 30 day Prime Trials with almost instant Free Delivery!cymruchris said:
If you're a prime member you'll earn points more quickly - if you're not - you'll earn them at the regular rate for Amazon purchases. You get the double points even if you do the 30 day prime membership trial - so that's worth activating if you have a few things to buy in any given month.Dandytf said:
What's the most cost effective way of accumulating Vouchers.cymruchris said:My initial limit was only £1000 - but it's upped since then - and I've made about £100 in Amazon vouchers since I've had it.
I know I could use this card for small home purchases, maybe one or two home gym items.
Are the points used against Amazon Purchases.
Think I'll start 500 spend with some E14 smart bulbs- I need 2 bedroom+2 hall.

Thanks I seen a Bench for my recent 3kg Dumbells though at almost 90 pounds thought I'de wait until Milder Temps arrive.blue.peter said:Dandytf said:What initial Limits have been issued to successful mser's£3,500.
Well, yes, maybe you could. But don't do so if you can get the same stuff cheaper elsewhere. There's no point in spending, say, 5% more buying it at Amazon if you only get 1.5% (Prime member rate) back in vouchers.Dandytf said:I know I could use this card for small home purchases, maybe one or two home gym items.
Though since finding using bed as an arm rest , I'll prob go ahead and purchase the exercise bench.Replenished CRA Reports.2020 Nissan Leaf 128-149 miles top charge. Savings depleted. VM Stream tv M250 Volted to M350 then M500 since returned to 1gb0 -

Dandytf said:Are the points used against Amazon Purchases. In a manner of speaking, yes.The points accumulate in your credit card account until you have 1,000. The next time you get a credit card statement after that, those 1,000 points are knocked off the balance and a £10 Amazon voucher is automatically applied to your Amazon account. You don't need to do anything yourself. Note that points are only redeemed in multiples of 1,000. If, by the time your statement is issued you have say, 1,200 points, only 1,000 are redeemed and you're left with a balance of 200. You would not get a £12 Amazon voucher and be left with a zero points balance in these circumstances. You can then apply your amazon voucher against your next purchase from Amazon.1

I don't find it frightening. Most of the time, I forget it. All that matters to me is that my credit limit is more than sufficient for my needs. Anything beyond that is irrelevant. I just use what I need and know that I can pay off next month, and ignore the rest. In other words, I use my credit cards responsibly. I'm well aware that there are people with vastly greater credit limits than mine, and don't care. The point I was making was simply that I don't need a higher credit limit than I already have on my Amazon credit card. (Mind you, if an increase is offered, I won't turn it down. I never do, even though I know that I'm unlikely to need it.)

My initial limit was £600. I used it for a few purchases in the first three months (to take advantage of the 0% interest) then paid it off in full when that rate ended. Since then I have used it regularly (£200-£300 per month) and cleared it every month. They have never increased the credit limit, although the APP encourages me to apply. My only other card is Vanquis, used occasionally and cleared every month. Amazon's 21.9% is definitely better than Vanquis' 39.9%, although at the moment I am not paying any interest on either.

Which makes me wonder are such generous almost unrealistic multi Limits required for anyone.blue.peter said:Dandytf said:40K!, That's frightening.

I'm considering one or two Amazon 0% purchases.
Though I've no need or Means of spending/re paying 2-300 p/month.
I'll stick to smaller purchases, and prob re pay costly purchases over 2-3 months if not in full.

Because people do use them! For instance I regularly spend £50k a month. So I'd much sooner use a CC for some reward or points than just do a bank transfer.Dandytf said:

It's not like I actually spend that on myself - but I do book expensive holidays at £20k plus, annually. So there is a need.Oh, my Amazon limit started around £3k I believe but that was a couple years ago. It's now £8500. So they give increases if you manage your account properly.1 -
@funkycredit
Enjoy your Need, whilst I know of low paid workers, minimum hours, being offered ridiculous Limits.
