Screen with Envy - Different Colour Panels
Comments

Yes they have and they don't see any issue with it. Keep repeating T&C's saying that we should have told them within 14 days. Seems that we are not the only ones they have done this to, I could understand a small variance but not a totally different colour of dove grey!Jumblebumble said:
Have Screen with Envy actually seen your photos?CL09 said:That's how we thought they should have been. My issue is that they class and have confirmed both of these panels as dove grey but there is clearly huge differences, it feels like they have had a dud batch, as now looking on Trustpilot there are others who have experienced the same, when ordering additional.
Live and learn I suppose!0 -
Th difference isn't right, but you should have reported it before anything was cut! Asking you to report within 14 days isn't unreasonable. It didn't need to be cut and fitted to check the colour.0

The ones that have been cut we believe to be true right colour as these match the posts. The lighter ones have not been cut and simply slide into place. Yes they shouldn't have been cut but they were done off-site at two different times.jon81uk said:Th difference isn't right, but you should have reported it before anything was cut! We then realised we wanted two more and ordered these in September. Due to COVID these have only been installed this week. "Do you mean that the whole lot were erected at the same time i.e. last week?

But still unfortunately should have been raised as soon as the new ones got delivered.CL09 said:

It appears the issue is the original panels, assuming both support and panels were ordered in the same colour. You havent answered the question on the additional supports but assuming some are new they all appear to match and all the supports match the new panels.
There is always risks when buying coloured items that those manufactured at different times can have variances in colour between matches. This can be even truer when you look at those who have thin margins who may be regularly switching suppliers etc.
It would be a fairly hard fight to argue that the variance is sufficient to be deemed an actual fault especially when it appears to be the ones that you liked so much that you ordered more of them that are the faulty ones plus when they highlight the risk of colour variance.
No idea how much each panel is but given you say the older ones are just slotted in then it may be a case of trying to come to an arrangement of replacing those at a low cost and then hopefully end up with matching panels and posts all round.0 -
In my mind
Your case wins on the argument that a reasonable person would say these are two different colours (grey and white).
Your case fails on the arguments that you failed to report in a timely manner and made material changes to the panels.
So overall you lose the case.
I'd say paint them all in one colour, but that would be a big job.1 -
Could this be a solution for you? If others have the same problem with the dove grey, can you arrange to swap with anybody?CL09 said:That's how we thought they should have been. I don't think you have any right to an exchange or refund so you're going to have to look at practical solutions.2 -
Despite what other posters believe I think that anyone who thinks the panel on the right hand side is any where near the same shade, and is acceptable needs a visit to an optician.CL09 said:Thanks all. We bought the original four dove grey panels(lighter colour panels) had these installed and loved them in September.
We then decided we would like to add the extra panels afterwards and ordered 2 of the same design and colour (dove grey). These got delivered in October and because of lockdown these have sat in my garage as the landscaper couldn't come back until this week. He has cut the additional pieces off site and brought them back to install yesterday. Yes we should have checked them but to me there is more than a slight difference, it's a whole
different colour. Have attached another picture to show how different the same colour is.
( The posts match the panel on the right just fine)
It looks to my untrained eye that the factory forgot to put any pigment into the batch
Screen with Envy would be telling a small claims court all about it if they did this to me.2 -
What other colours do they offer? Specifically, do they offer a paler grey/off white? This would support the argument that they sent the wrong thing first time. If their only other colours are brown and black then maybe the grey is just really variable - the warning to buy as much as you will need at one time as colours vary between batches is something I see a lot, and occasionally major variation.
