Interesting you would have thought they would have gone portrait with the next card design.droberts26 said:
It may very well be, these images are from NatWest's instagram stories from a couple of months agojackjones01 said:I hope that imagery isn’t a sign of the debit card design Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0

I already reverted my cards back to the embossed versions (what an effort that was!) as really dislike the printed cards but the design of the new ones look even more hideous - looks more like a card for a child’s account 😳

It's interesting how the NatWest and Royal Bank of Scotland web sites are more than a little different.
 https://www.natwest.com/current-accounts/existing-customers/new-mastercard.html
 https://www.rbs.co.uk/current-accounts/existing-customers/new-mastercard.html
I remember when the Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank sites were pretty much identical, apart from references to the bank name. One was cbonline, the other ybonline. NatWest and Royal Bank of Scotland even use different words. For instance RBS says: "It’s accepted in millions of locations worldwide, wherever you see the Mastercard symbol.", where NatWest says: "It’s accepted in millions of locations all over the world – just keep an eye out for the Mastercard symbol.".
Just a small difference in wording, but to keep two sites offering pretty much the same products in sync but with different wording must be a policy decision and someone must be sitting there deciding on the different wording. Fascinating!1

Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's likely to prevent search engines detecting them as having duplicate content; which usually leads to one/both sites falling in search rank, rather than a brand alignment thing.gsmh said:It's interesting how the NatWest and Royal Bank of Scotland web sites are more than a little different.

I'm not sure what bubble you think you're bursting - I merely mentioned that the Yorkshire and Clydesdale bank sides are pretty much identical, clearly causing no problems to search engines, whereas the Royal Bank of Scotland and the NatWest sites have different wording, graphics etc.. Just look at https://secure.cbonline.co.uk/ and https://secure.ybonline.co.uk/ - they are identical apart from having a different background colour and the name Clydesdale and Yorkshire.WillPS said:Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's likely to prevent search engines detecting them as having duplicate content; which usually leads to one/both sites falling in search rank, rather than a brand alignment thing.0

They are also clearly trying establish the NatWest brand as the dominant one in group and depreciate RBS into just a 'regional' brand for Scotland. With Clydesdale/ Yorkshire, the brands were pretty much on equal footing.gsmh said:

I'm not sure that's entirely true. RBS branches in England and Wales are being refurbished currently, even when they are more-or-less next door to a Natwest.

I am sure - They've already introduced cross brand servicing and closed down a whole swathe of RBS branches in England plus have renamed the holding company NatWest Group and old RBS as NatWest Markets.WillPS said:Deleted User said:

Do you think they've done this due to their love of purple chevrons?0
