No great feelings on this other than I hope the special Child & Co card designs stay.
  • Hello,

Here’s the latest news about your current account(s), including some changes we’re making to your terms and conditions, which will come into effect from 31st December 2021.

Firstly, your NatWest debit card is changing from Visa Debit to Debit Mastercard® and has a brand new look, and your terms and conditions are changing to reflect this. Any current debit cards you have with us will be replaced with this new version.

Your new card will do everything you’re used to, and a bit more. It’s now mostly made from recycled printing and packaging material, which means it’s more sustainable than your old card.

But hold tight. Nothing’s changing right now. Cards will only start to be reissued from December 2021 and it may be a while before you receive your new card. Just keep on using your current card as normal, and we’ll be in touch nearer the time to tell you more.

Mastercard must be offering a good deal to these banks, Santander also went over.
I wonder why they're able to offer a good deal :)

That's to do with Britain exiting the EEA and effectively becoming a separate regulatory zone. It's unlikely (in itself) make the bank more money as it will now incur a higher interchange fee where there was none (more than domestic) for EEA transactions. .
