VW Dieselgate claims
Options
There have been recent announcements a court decision suggests UK VW car owners who have had the 'cheat device' fitted to their car may be able to claim for any loss.
Class action groups have been forming and solicitors are offering to make no win / no fee claims for a percentage of any award from VW.
Does anyone know if it will be possible for individuals to make a claim direct to VW in the same way it was possible to claim direct for Payment Protection claims

You missed the deadline for the class action, and are now considering a parallel action, right?0

Thanks Adrian C - I have been advised by another no win / no fee solicitor that say they provide insurance to protect those who attempt to make a claim they provide another class action opportunity which is still open. Not sure if it might be called papallel action though...0

Thanks williamgriffin - to be honest I'm not sure but am being told I have been put at a loss by a solicitor although not sure what the formula is to calculate the value. I may not make a claim but just wondering if anyone could answer my original question as part of my initial evaluation.0

Surely the loss is the purchase price of a car (in this case, but it could be anything) that does not comply with legislation and is not as described. Surely the claim would be that if the OP knew the truth about the car's actual performance then he would not have bought it in the first place. Basically, VW are guilty of misleading their customers in their product descriptions - are you suggesting that that misled customers have not sufferedd any 'loss' in consequence?0
