NatWest / RBS rewards credit card

Hopefully someone with the card and the reward current account will know the answer to this. I can’t work it out from the website.

The blurb says you need to accrue £5 in rewards before you can do anything with them. The current account rewards scheme has the same rule. Do the accrued amounts for both get stored in the same place (so you only have to get £5 in total between them) or separately (so you need £5 in rewards from both the current account and the credit card).

It’s easy to get the £5 every month on the bank account, not so easy on the credit card.

No it goes in the same reward pot so as long as it is £5 a more you should be ok.

Spend £125 per week on the credit card at a supermarket and you will have £5 in rewards at the end of the month. All other spending will accrue 0.25%. I am averaging £12 per month in rewards on both the cc and the bank account.

If you have a rewards bank account with a £2 monthly fee, you will get a full refund on the annual credit card fee of £24.

I get at least a 4% discount on supermarket gift cards via a third party site through work so the rate would be 0.25% on them (and my weekly supermarket bill is significantly less than £125 anyway).

Aldi and Lidl don't do discounted gift cards, 1% is the best you'll get there (unless you spend over £10k pa on Amex).
Not sure Iceland/Food Warehouse do either? (Maybe via Love2Shop?)

As you can trade them up for vouchers, I'm just leaving the balance accruing for now anyway & will take a look when we come out of lockdown....

I use the trade-up from time to time.  Vouchers typically mailed very quickly - For example, I was buying something from Curry's last year, remembered about  RBS Rewards, and was able to redeem and enter all during the Curry's checkout process.
