Got a reply from Elderbridge !! they will investigate and get back to me within 4 weeks

Did you do the FOS form? If you did, let them know you have a response from Elderbridge, they will then wait until you have a final response and depending on what the final response is will take it from there

Guys , bit of an update : had an offer from First Plus  last October that we accepted as we were worried they would withdraw the offer if we appealed to the Ombudsman. However we continued with the appeal as well and last week the Ombudsman contacted us with a new offer from First Plus ... 6 times the amount of the original offer. It was paid into our account yesterday. Basically they still don't accept liability but have made their new calculation over the length of the loan and not just the last 6 years!, so don't give up!!
         Amersall on a personal note I can't thank you enough, I genuinely believe it was the wording of the complaint (that you advised people to use) that got us here....

Has anybody in a similar situation to me been successful complaining to Elderbridge where FP loan taken out in 2007 for 70K and settled in 2015 for 65K?

No it took me a lot of time to find my original documentation and finally found it yesterday. So I fired off an email with the recommendations from this thread to Elderbridge yesterday.
