Did you do the FOS form? If you did, let them know you have a response from Elderbridge, they will then wait until you have a final response and depending on what the final response is will take it from there
    Hi Amersall .
Had a payment from Elderbridge of £70 due to them not replying to my complaint in time but they have given me my final response and upheld my complaint but passed it on to the original lender First Plus, I also had an email from Barclays saying : We`re sorry you didn`t have a great experience and had to complain. We`d love to know how you think we handled your complaint so we can improve our service.

This survey should only take 2 minutes and work on any device. We won`t ask for any personal information or passwords, and it won`t be used for promotional purposes.

As I haven't had anything else from Barclays about my complaint I passed it onto to the FOS , I did ask the FOS if I had to wait for First Plus ( Barclays ) to get back to me with their final response before anything else happens. (That was on the 5th July ) and still waiting . Regards Geoff

That's good news, wait for the response from First Plus give them time.

I received a letter this morning from Elderbridge confirming my email of complaint. They wrote the following:

"I write with reference to your email dated 6 August 2024, from which I was sorry to learn that you felt the need to complain on this occasion. I can confirm that we will be conducting a thorough investigation into your concerns. Once we have completed this, we will write to you with our findings. If this takes longer than four weeks to complete we will send you a letter informing you of our progress.

I enclose a leaflet titled "Our Commitment to Handling Customer Complaints" which provides further details"

To be honest I was very surprised they replied so quickly based on experiences read in this forum.

They are getting better, they have to because FOS are on their backs.
Hopefully they will pass this to firstplus, fingers crossed 🤞

Hi Amersall , how long do you think I should leave it before chasing this up , it's 8 weeks at the end of next week since Elderbridge passed it onto first plus and apart from an email from Barclays asking how did they do with my complaint I haven't heard anything . Ta Geoff

Give them to the end of next week if you have heard nothing by then, Give Elderbridge a call see what they say and if your not happy, let FOS know

    Hi Amersall,

Received another letter from Elderbridge today on our complaint, nothing significant though.

"Further to our earlier letter acknowledging your complaint. I am writing to you to let you know that my enquiries into the matters you have raised are continuing.

Unfortunately, I am not yet in a position to tell you the outcome because I am awaiting further information in order to complete the investigation.

Please be assured that I shall to my best to provide a full response to your complaint as soon as possible. You will hear from me, in any event, within the next four weeks"

I guess I will hear further in a month or so with another update!

    Cheers.

Hey, I received yet another letter from Elderbridge today but it's confusing some what.

"We are writing to inform you a complaint was raised on your behalf in error following receipt of your email on 7 August 2024. We can confirm receipt of your email, this was passed over to Head Office to review and respond.

We kindly request you disregard the letter issued to you 2 September 2024."

Seems they have rescinded their last letter which I don't quite understand.

    Cheers.
