It's the August letter anyway that will get the responses for you.
You did send to FOS as well?.
Jog my memory here, what was the reason you gave re interest rates in August ?
You didn't make a complaint in September did you, you chased your August complaint up in September.
    They are useless 😒

I did not send to FOS for now as they have responded within a few weeks to my email complaint. I've only ever registered the one complaint to which I have had all these responses.

Do you think I should send to FOS too?

You have 6 months after a final response to go to the FOS before it's time barred, you can refer after 8 weeks or at a point where the company issues a deadlock letter

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Give them to the end of next week if you have heard nothing by then, Give Elderbridge a call see what they say and if your not happy, let FOS know
Been in contact with the FOS to let them know it's been 10 weeks since this complaint was sent to First plus and I've had no reply from them , been trying to find a Barclays email address to point out they haven't replied to my complaint but no joy !!
    FOS have emailed me saying
" I’m getting in touch to say that I’m sorry we’ve not started to investigate your complaint yet. We’re currently very busy, with lots of customers needing our help at the moment. That means it could still be some time before one of our case handlers gets in touch with you. I’m very sorry for this delay, but can assure you your complaint hasn’t been forgotten."
    So still waiting

Same old same old with FOS beggers belief.
Give Elderbridge a call and ask what's happening with Barclays with your complaint see what they say.
  • Hi, I’ve received an offer from First Plus via FOS of £17k interest reimbursement plus £150 compensation.  As I already have agreement from First plus that the interest of £47k is statute barred, but the remaining capital outstanding of £6.5k, I’ve asked through the FOS to confirm if this offer of £17k can be used to clear the capital, then we walk away, final deal.  It would be helpful to have others thoughts on this offer? As with lots of you on here, the pressure of First Plus & Elderbridge has had a huge detrimental impact & resulted in us selling our property & our relationship ending, do the £150 for inconvenience caused feels like a slap in the face.

That should be fine if the FOS ask them.
Make sure the charge comes off the property as well.

Hi , Can I ask how long did it take you to get a reply from First plus , my complaint was forwarded to them from Elderbridge nearly 3 months ago and I haven't heard anything
  • Hi, my complaint has taken a year to get to this point, so please do just hang in there & stick them out.

We sold our property back in 2016 & paid of all of the balance with the exception of £6.5k & the charge on the property was removed.  First Plus confirmed at that point that the interest charged was zero & basically never asked us for the balance. After 7 years, early in 2023 Elderbridge started sending statements with the interest of £47k added back which they said had accumulated in the background!! I complained & said it was statute barred & they agreed that the interest was but that the capital wasn’t.  Current position is that they’ve offered to reduce the interest by £17k, but as this is statute barred, I’ve asked FSO to request that this is used against the capital, although I do not think First Plus will agree.

I hope this all makes sense. Thanks again to everyone on this forum for your help.
