I've been on the site and let them know, see if I get a response.

  • Thanks amersall
  • Hi amersall

I have a telephone meeting with the FOS case handler tomorrow.  She has already mentioned that because i paid off loan in 2015 that the 6 year rule will likely go against me unless i can prove that i complained previously about interest rates.........I did several times via phone calls prior to 2015 but unfortunately don't have documentation to verify that.........Do you think its worth mentioning that the FPC group took Firstplus to court ( Leeds County court if I remember correctly ) back in circa 2012/ 2013?...........ps i still haven't been accepted for the FPC Facebook group but thanks for trying to get me on anyway.

It wasn't the group I think we all put in to send one member to court, FP won so there is no point citing that.

Tell her that whatever reasons they gave for not upholding, you accepted what their response was at the time but to then find out offers are now being made for the same reasons you gave re interest is disgusting frankly and why haven't FOS referred FP to the FCA.

Let her know that you complained by telephone re interest rates,  and you no longer have any proof.
Had you known that 8 years after repaying the loan people were being given
"goodwill gestures " due to the interest rate then you would have kept all info related to this loan.
Ask for it to be escalated to ombudsman
  • Thanks for your suggested comments, they are really helpful. Sorry i am unsure what you mean when you say ask for it to be escalated to the ombudsman.......... does that differ from FOS (Financial Ombudsman Service) who I am currently liaising with?? ..........excuse my ignorance on this.

They are not my comments, that's what you should tell her tomorrow when she calls, all of it.
You're not ignorant took me years to learn about this 😊
She is not an ombudsman just a caseworker. If you don't like what her responses are then ask her to escalate it up the ombudsman

  • Ah right I understand now. Yes I will definitely do that and thanks once again for your help on this. Its much appreciated.
