Why do you need to tell if it is yours? You already know that it isn't.

What you need to do is show them that it is not, surely??
A couple of clear photographs, one highlighting what to look for should be sufficient.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

It’s hard to explain. I need to see the cctv myself come to see its basically my diffuser style, I know it’s really subtle but I would rather show the difference myself (if they let me see) as I feel they will not be able To differentiate if i show them only.

You don't have that option, they've refused.
Have you sent the insurance companies of what *your* car looks like and given their experts the opportunity to determine if it looks different to the one in the CCTV?

I mean, you've got no reason not to show the insurance what you're car looks like, right, and you'll need to show them what your car looks like if you want to assert that the diffuser is different.

He needs to show them what the car looked like in 2019.

He hasn't said* he can't do that, has he?  What he's said is he doesn't want to send them a photo because only he can identify the mods on his car.  And he can only do that when he's seen the video/stills - because he can't describe them adequately beforehand.

*I'm assuming you mean he won't happen to have a photo of the car at the same time as the accident(?).  Apols if you mean otherwise.

Thanks mate. Sometimes it’s too difficult to explain in writing. I have a custom rear diffuser, that looks  pretty much like the standard one but has some slight differences in style. If I hadn’t the insurances supposed picture I could point out the specific differences. I know if I send this picture they  will not bother to scrutinise it the way I will.

So send two pictures, side by side, one of your car and one of a standard one, with the differences highlighted.

But I thought we were just talking about...
Certain stickers, number plate styling, tints etc
Now it's bodykit that's the only visual difference.

They would need to have 2 identical cars as well!  The OP has already said they were 2 miles away at the time of the incident.

Did OP say they were 2 miles away with that car? (Apologies if they did ... I recall seeing the post you mean - about being at a cashpoint - but I don't recall them confirming they had that car with them at the time).

Sending them a picture of the custom diffuser and a picture of the standard one, highlighting the differences and ideally providing a receipt for your custom one, should see you in the clear then.

You seem to be trying pretty hard to avoid clearing yourself here. The insurance company isn't going to take your word for it if they send you a picture of the car and you reply "Yeah no mate, my cars different but I can't show you how". You're still going to need to provide evidence that your car is different from the one in the the video.

Have you asked for a still image of just the rear of the car?

OP has a bank statement from an Asda about 2 miles away at about the same time as the incident. There's no evidence that the OP was even at the Asda nevermind any evidence that the car was there too or that the incident couldn't have happened on the trip to/from Asda.
