Lol @flapflop I am doing the same this month. Trying to get ahead so that nothing needs paying off for this months spends on pay day. Once we have that fresh slate it should be so much easier the following months.

Small wins!
I think stopping the overspend is goal one. I love that we haven't added to the debt since 2019.
I don't know what I can do today which is money saving. We've spent a lot this month and I'm bracing myself for no overpayments next month which makes me sad.
I didn't have breakfast today and have been thinking about food all afternoon!0 -
Thank you @WinterWarrior. It will definitely be nice to see a clean slate come payday and then start making the repayments.
I spent £9.44 on fruit today. I shouldn't need anything tomorrow (famous last words) but I will need salsa on Wednesday. I've eaten horrendously today and now I feel really sick. I may end up giving what chocolate we have in the house away so the temptation isn't there. Who am I kidding? I will eat it all really quickly so it is gone and then buy more and eat more. Ridiculous really. Oh, I will spend £5 at the food larder tomorrow. That seems a good way to spend a fiver. Anything we don't eat we take to the food bank.
I gave up becoming an OLIO food warrior. My first collection was due to be 7am on Sunday so I woke up at 6:30 to find there was nothing to collect. I don't fancy a 6:30 start every Sunday.Total debt at peak 2021 = £38931

@remote_control Not having breakfast is deadly for over eating. Tomorrow I will be having porridge, half a banana, half an apple and a tablespoon of chopped walnuts.Total debt at peak 2021 = £38931

I have porridge with honey. The thing I do is have coffee, work a few hours, then breakfast at 10am...it’s a shorter time until lunch then 😬Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

@WinterWarrior I find if I have porridge for breakfast then I don't need to worry so much about waiting for lunch because it is slow release. Although I do live my life going from one meal to the next.
Today wasn't as no spend as I had hoped. A friends birthday meant I needed a card and gift. We've also decided to take DS to Legoland in a few weeks so I'm currently trying to change my Tesco vouchers into Legoland vouchers to bring the cost of that down. We were meant to go for his birthday but lockdown came again and so that went out the window. He hasn't had a day out for a good year and a half so this will hopefully be quite special. He is such a kind boy. Good parenting
I'll head off to the food larder today. It is food that is going out of date so shops donate it and for a fiver you get a mountain of food. As I mentioned before it is hit and miss with regards to what you get and how useful it is but anything we don't use we give to the foodbank so nothing goes to waste. I have a friend who barely spends £30 a month on food for her and her family. She uses food larders, Olio etc. and never lets anything go to waste. She is a wonder woman with keeping food costs down but sadly I don't think that is realistic for me.Total debt at peak 2021 = £38931

Sadly no amount of slow release porridge is going to stop me wanting some biscuits 😖
We live in quite a remote area so there isnt much of anything like the food waste schemes here.Keeping food costs down is like a dark art isn’t it? We always try to keep ours low and still spend double for 2, than a thrifty family of 6 seem to manage!Lego land should be fun....don’t they say if they are kind lovely boys now they turn into monsters later?? 🤔😜Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

@WinterWarrior I'm choosing to believe that kind now means kind forever. Its easier than believing the likely reality which is the opposite.
Yesterday took a turn for the worse. DS fractured his ankle. I ended up spending extra money on frozen pizza and chocolate on the way home from the hospital. We've also ordered him a build a bear to cheer him up. I'll go and collect a wheelchair from red Cross so he can get out for some fresh air and an ice cream.
Today I will be buying myself some fancy !!!!!! strawberries 🍓 just because I want them. I might buy DS a magazine but theyre so damned expensive. I know he wants something called Smashems which is £18 but it is so much plastic that will likely end up in landfill. I can't bear it.Total debt at peak 2021 = £38931

Oh no, sorry to hear about the ankle! What a nightmare! Hope you are all ok.0

Oh no 😖 I hope his ankle heals quickly. A build a bear sounds like an excellent present for such a nasty accident. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien
