@MrFrugalFever Absolutely and there's nothing like a free meal. Nothing sold on Ebay and nothing sold on FB. I feel bereft and unwanted. Actually, worse than that, someone is returning something. I had a necklace that we were told was stirling silver so I sold it as such. Turns out that the chain was stirling silver but the settings weren't. I dont begrudge them wanting a refund at all but its a bummer.
I also went to the shop today to top up. A £30 top up! I'm struggling to remember what I bought. Eggs, dog treats, toothpaste, hand soap, cereal. I know there is more but I am drawing a complete blank. Cellotape, that was another one. Soap pads. Jeeeeez thats dreary.

You can’t begrudge buying everyday normal things it’s not like you’ve gone and lashed out a load of cash out on something ridiculous be less tough on yourself
  • :( one return out of many sales is not a bad ratio though, it was always going to happen at some point I guess!

i find the weekly shop more of a chore than anything but it’s a necessity. Sometimes I find myself buying the same things week in week out and then find myself duplicating wha5 I’ve bought because I’m so programmed to just pick them up without really thinking. I think I have about 8 tins of chopped tomatoes now 😂 I mean I will use them all but....

sales will pick up if you still have more things to shift. It’s the weekend now, do you get the chance to rest?
If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.

@Jamesyb123 it will be a long time before I spend crazy money on something equally as crazy. We want to go on a holiday to Florida in 3 years and I fully intend o  spending obscene amounts of money then. @MrFrugalFever I am exactly the same but with washing up liquid. We had about 7 bottles at one point and I ended up putting them on the windowsill so I could see them and remember not to buy any. It worked but then we ran out of washing up liquid.

Yes a nice rewarding holiday after a long period of hard work is always well deserved. Florida is amazing you’ll love it.
  • I love spending lots of money on holidays!
How stocked up are your cupboards? All that food is money you have sitting there. What meals can you make from the random bits to be used up? I have some non-standard flour (rice, spelt) in my cupboard and I've been adding it to recipes I use plain or bread flour in and so far everything has turned out well.
  • @remote_control I've been using a website that allows you to put in all the ingredients you have at home and it comes back with recipes that only use those ingredients. I cant find the frugal living section in the forum. Do you know which section it is in?

Just put the wee one to bed. Im always so tired by 7pm. My Granny was the same. I sold 2 things today for £30 but Im going to hold into that as we don't have much left in the coffers. Today has been quiet. Got my Covid jab booked which is exciting. Had a nap. Played games with the small person. Nothing much to report really. Its been a very nice day 😌

After a relatively quiet and peaceful day I had a horrible night. My heated blanket broke so I was shivering in bed and couldn't sleep and when I finally did manage it my son woke me up and I was awake for about 3 hours. Definitely will need to nap today. I hate napping but i know that I won't make it through the day without being grumpy if I don't have one. It amazes me that DS can wake up for hours and still wake up at 7am without fail. How is he not tired? Good news though, I woke up to £51 of sales so that can buy me a new heated blanket plus an extra 10 towards PayPal. Yes, the heated blanket is necessary. I already have a thick duvet, heavy blanket and a hot water bottle but I still shiver. I still shiver with the heated blanket but less so.
I think we might be entitled to the green home grant to get loft insulation so that can be tomorrows job. That should help warm this house up.
