I sold quite a few low value things yesterday so that is an another £91 headed my way. My SO did need some help with his buyer and I thought it was £120 which is what I had put aside but it was only £67 which frees up £53. I also still have £66 to come from Ebay so if I use £36 of the mysterious money I saved and found yesterday, I have cleared the £246 that was left on Very! I can't clear it completely today because I need to wait for the £66 from Ebay but theoretically it is done. I didn't expect to clear one debt this month let alone 2! I suppose next is to throw as much money as Paypal. By clearing those two it also means that next payday I have an additional £536 to put towards the RBS loan which I hadn't planned to start clearing until the month after. Amazing! I am so chuffed and surprised.
DS told SO that his laces had broken on his school shoes on the way to school today (he was wearing his wellies so his shoes were in his rucksack) so I had to drive some shoes up to him. Then to the post office to post the sales from yesterday, then to Tesco which I stupidly did hungry and thirsty so I ended up spending £3.37 I didn't need to but I also donated a lot to the foodbank and put £25 of fuel in the car. Exactly £25. I feel like a hero for finally managing that. I think I am more impressed with that then I am with the debt clearing. There should be some kind of award for getting it exactly on that marker. Free fuel perhaps? £25 worth?
I'm off to update my signature and then back to work. I hope you all have healthy and fruitful money saving days ahead of you.Total debt at peak 2021 = £38931

Hi. I am a lurker and thankfully don't have much debt. But my income has been significantly reduced due to impact of lockdown. I have been looking for ways to be frugal and am so inspired by your approach. You are a selling ninja
I have now started going through the house to see what I can list. Thanks for the inspiration!2 -
Thanks @Tightpants24, great handle too! It feels good to have a declutter. I really do feel like the house is breathing.Total debt at peak 2021 = £38931

I find it odd that you have to phone up RBS to make overpayments. On most statements I’ve come across they ordinarily supply their bank details and providing you use the correct reference it will allocate it to your account via bank transfer. Perhaps something to query with them in first call?If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.
Secured/Unsecured loans x 1
Credit Cards x 8 (total limit £55,050)
Creation FS Retail Account x 1

So I have closed the Simplybe account, I have managed to reduce my credit with very to £150 but can't close it completely until they apply the payments that I have made today and Next need to wait for the payments from the other day to show before closing. So exciting! Closing the account is a great milestone.
That's a pain about overpaying RBS. I suppose you could have a pot you could easily transfer money into and once a month over pay it in a lump sum.1
