Amazon Prime Video subscription

  • Bit confused - I could only find Amazon Prime at £7.99 pm (£79.00 pa) as option .. this clearly includes Prime delivery etc.

Is it possible to just have Prime Video at £5.99 pm .. I haven’t seen that ?

Yes you have Prime Video with included content, and the option to rent other titles, which are not included in Prime Video, paying individually per film. There is as far as I know no subscription to access the latter. They are pay per rental only.
That's what I thought, However, it seems I am not the only one to find the way Amazon present it confusing, given some of the posts n this thread. Moreover, their customer service agents give conflicting advice.

EDIT: This link: https://www.amazon.co.uk/amazonprime just takes me to a page showing movies I can watch for free and rent/buy - no sign of a sign-up button for the elusive and seemingly mythical Prime Movies monthly subscription.
Amazon Music on the other hand has a link below for the £7.99 add-on music subscription.

If I sign out I see the £5.99 Prime Video only plan (See More Plans)

This plan will still be limited to Prime inclusive content and not all the titles only available on a pay per rent basis.

You can have the £5.99 plan, or the general Prime membership, as all the inclusive content on £5.99 plan is already available with general Prime membership.

The £7.99 Music Unlimited is an additional offering, it gives access to more music content than what is already included with Prime.

There is no equivalent video plan, pay per rental is the only option beyond Prime content through either a stand alone Prime Video subscription or a full Prime Membership.

    Thankyou, that's nailed it.
The £5.99 is not an addon that gives you unlimited rental of all video content but gives you "Prime Lite", i.e. the same inclusive rental content as with the general Prime sub, minus free one-day delivery and music.
