  • Just to let you all know i've gone for the LG viewty :)

I'm still not 100% decided but the reviews have been mixed for the k850. I have 14 days to return the viewty if I dislike it so will let you know next week!
  • Just got my k850.. its not a lot different to the k800, but it's certainly an improvement. I've got my old LED light back.. i missed that :)
  • I have had Sony Ericssons for the last 5 years. The new k850i was on my hit list when i saw a preview on their website. The k850i is the best muti function phone.. the functions are great and the auto tilt screen for pics and vids is superb. I also have downloaded Wayfinder (Sat Nav) and got the headset with built in gps from se and it's real good. I have also managed to put 120 music albums on it so i have a sat nav , music player and phone in one not to mention the 5mp camera. All in all se have done it again.

  • I've had the Viewty for a week, unfortunately the handset was faulty (couldn't recieve or make calls, and it only said "emergency calls only" all the time :/ ), but i got to see it's features which were few.
My last 3 phones were also all SE, and I opted for the change to lg as it was time for a new contract.
But as my phone is faulty I've decided to actually go for the SE K850i, as in all honesty even though the phone looks good, it's boring and has bland features. You'll look smart with it in hand, but you might be cursing yourself inside for not getting a more feature heavy phone.

Well after a long time to think, I got myself an O2 XDA Orbit.... no bigger than the Viewty, same height and depth and only a little wider than my old K800i (to accomodate the much bigger screen) and LOADS BETTER FEATURES than any standard "phone".

Well impressed, sat nav, wi-fi, MS office, media player, phone, camera, music and movies...

Just as a side issue, I just got some pics printed on 6" x 4" from my old K800i (I now have the K810i) and they are of excellent quality. You would think they had been taken using a stand alone digital camera and not a phone.

I would find if hard to change from SE on any future upgrades.
Hark at you going all strict :D
  • Here's a piccy taken on my k850i :

What I love is the ability to tag images. I can now browse my photos by people/places
  • If that pic doesn't sell it than nothing will. I went to a music concert in bournemouth , my home town and took some fab pics and videos. I was able as with previous se's to chop, edit and put in text to make the video truly mine. If you love pics than there is a menu in the camera section that helps you make the most of the pictures. A friend of mine is a prof photo guy and he said the menu is 1st class and the quality of the pic is for a phone almost as good as a camera itself. The other reasons i love Sony Ericsson phones is i have a music player , camera , phone , browser and video player all in one.

I've been using this K850i for a few weeks now and I'm "on the fence". Several things of note. Yes, the keys are smallish, but the numerals are grey on black and require the light to be on them to give a clearer view. This is something I hadn't noted. Also, I like picture ID. I'd started to take pics in Portrait mode and when asigning them to ID, found they were in landscape. Despite hours searching and researching, I came to the conclusion/decision that all ID pics should be taken in Landscape mode, then they will appear correct when the caller calls. It seems the space allocated for the pic is in the top third of the screen, hence only a narrow area available..........................that is unless you know different?

  • I'm content with my LG viewty as I managedto haggle them into letting me have it for £25 a month rather than £30.

Next time my contracts up i'm hoping to go back to a SE phone as I miss them but I wonder what new phones they'll release this year?
