SE K850i or LG Viewty? Help me choose?

I love Sony Ericsson phones, my last 3 phones have been theirs, but i'm not entirely being wowed by the new K850 as I feel it's too similar to my SE K800i.

Now i'd like the 5 megapixels camera still and there are a few of these different models out now. I'm torn between the K850 and the LG Viewty.

Does anybody have either of these phones? Can you give me a recomendation? Any quirks that you do or dont like about them etc?

im lovin the viewty,not got 1 yet but its similar to the apple i phone but soooooo much cheaper!:o

Perversely one of the things i'm not entirely sure about is the touch screen. I got to see one in the shop and managed to text fine but cant guarentee i'll get used to it

I agree about the K850i...

I love Sony Ericsson (and hate Nokia) but of late the SE phones seem to have stood still in terms of style, shape and size.... ok they have crammed a 5mp camera in there but the 3.2 that I have on my K800i is fine so there is really no need... i'd rather have a smaller 3.2 on offer than a sams size 5mp camera... especially since I don't use the camera that much...

LG Viewty looks very nice but i'm not sure about it... not sure if the touch screen would be tough enough to stand up to even my semi-careful handling

For me it's more having a phone for 18 months if I cant get the hang of it - the safer option would be the k850 but still am unsure

There was nothing at all wrong with 12 month contracts and then the phone companies got greedy!! I refuse to take an 18 month contract, 12 is long enough for me... its getting increasingly difficult to get a 12 month contract though...

I'm in the exact same situation, i've had a K700, K750 and K800... the K850 just looks too similar with no vast improvement. I've played with the Viewty and found it too lightweight, the touch entry annoying and it was a bit huge.

Come on Sony E, be innovative again! Throw some decent video recording in a phone for once

I'm in the same boat. Currently have the K800i and very happy with it. Asked to look at the K850i in the Threestore the other day. The navigation is awful, the buttons tiny and the touch screen buttons very fiddly. Hated it in fact so thats a no go for me. Used to have the P900 touch screen but that had a small pen/stylus to do accurate texts etc. so not sure about the Viewty.

Weren't LG useless at making the first gen of 3G phones too? Presume they have improved though.

Just want a SIM only deal for 3 in renewal but they no longer offer them.

I have the K850i and like it....but my colleague couln't get used to his as he found the buttons too small to text etc.
He ended up giving his to his fiancee and reverting to his old phone.

I have the k850 and i love it, really easy to use. Touch screen is fine, buttons are fine for me too but i have little girly fingers. Might not be ideal if you have big sausage fingers;) I wasnt sure if i would like it as i've always had nokias, but the latest nokias are pooh. Glad i went for the Sony. HTH:D

With regards to the 12 month/18 month contract I've been offered 400 min and 1000 texts for £20pm for 18 months. But if I go for the same deal at 12 months i'll have to pay £30 per month instead!

The LG has had better reviews on cnet but whenever I find forums of people who actually have them it's people who only shine their phones praises, I want honest reviews of the faults, apparently the flash isnt as good on the LG but the camera focusing is better.

I dont want a samsung and cant see any other phones I want with the camera out on the horizon
