I only picked up on that because I thought your allegation of hostility on my part was harsh and inaccurate.

You continuing to try to engage me only further proves that you don't wish to discuss the topic at hand, you wish to argue with me personally. That's fine. I do not want to argue with you. Have a good day.

    OK.
To discuss the 'topic at hand', I think the difference between us is that you looked at the image only

I was totally perplexed as to what the website was trying to convey having not seen the ad. (The lizard thing too?! What?!) I appreciated learning the backstory from those who had seen the ad, and it does make sense in the context but without that context, you have to admit that it's weird image.
and I looked at the image and the words - hence my comment:

I really think you're supposed to read the words in conjunction with looking at the picture...

I regret that you found my comment hostile.
    It wasn't intended to be.

I do find some adverts confusing but not this one.
That's probably because I've actually seen the full advert on tv and you haven't.
There's no right and wrong here.
    Just a different viewpoint.

And as the OP admitted - it's a pointless rant so I'll leave it there.

You have a nice day too, it's fine and bright here.

I've just insured my rabbit and my lizard with them!
  • The reason why Norwich Union changed their name to sell Car Insurance was that all us old fogies (yes I'm over 60) know full well what a total rip-off NU insurance of any type (used?) to be ...
PLUS IMHO the only reason why a company would refuse to use price comparison sites is because they are never price competitive ... (I can't conform that since I never waste my time getting quotes from such companies ...)

I can confirm it is incorrect.  Sometimes the best quote I have got is from a company that is not on the comparison websites.  I think the MSE article on comparison site covers this (but it has been a long time since I have read it).
I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!
