Vauxhall Emmisions

So which specific EU tests were cheated? And how has that caused you a financial loss?Cristina07 said:alleged ‘cheat devices’ fitted on some of their diesel vehicles artificially reducing emissions to pass EU tests.
Back when VW were being exposed for the cheat device to pass USA emissions regs I noted (to myself) that this was probably much wider-reaching than just VW. It seems I was right. Still very little for consumers to claim against though.Jenni x0 -
you are ironic and i dont need this. I asked as it was advertised and i may be affected. i just got a call and i wanted to verify how this work from someone who may have claimed.
So if you can help i really appreciate t but not irony...0 -
Ignoring the (non) merits of this particular case, Cristina07 raises an interesting point.
Do these sorts of 'class actions' (I know they're not called that in the UK) set legal precedents such that if successful and compensation IS awarded, then anyone owning one of the affected vehicles could apply on an individual basis because the 'case' has already been proven.
Didn't this happen with the PPI scandal? Once the case was established anyone could apply individually without got to one of the numerous 'ambulance chasers' that cropped up.
So, perhaps the best strategy with this emissions thing is to wait for a legal judgement in UK/Europe to prove the case and let others take the risk of an expensive court case losing and incurring a share of the costs?0 -
But you’re wanting to take legal action against one of the biggest companies in the world ? Presumably you can explain how you’ve been wronged ?Cristina07 said:you are ironic and i dont need this. Not really . . . the ambulance chasers law firm takes all the legal action on your behalf. THEY make the case, do all the work and everyone else is just along for the ride. And hopefully a share of the payout. You can see the attractionk3lvc said:

I've also read that insurance can be arranged so that even if the case fails and costs are awarded against the claimants, the insurance policy pays them. So, on the face of it, where is the risk?

Hi Guys, Anyone know what is the latest with the Vauxhall Deisel Emissions claims? If you own or have a had one of the motor's in question, is it best to complete one of those online forms. Thanks in advance.0

Yes - the latest is if you think and can prove you've lost out then make a claim yourself and avoid paying the ambulance chasers a penny.scrivs25 said:Hi Guys, Anyone know what is the latest with the Vauxhall Deisel Emissions claims? You do understand what you're claiming for and what losses you've suffered don't you ? Or are you just jumping on a bandwagon ?1 -
You lose out as you have to pay the insurance cost.... Plenty of mugs will not and end up with a massive bill.Mickey666 said:I've also read that insurance can be arranged so that even if the case fails and costs are awarded against the claimants, the insurance policy pays them. Hi. thank you for your reply. Only from, what I've read in the press. Would hardly call it 'jumping on the bandwagon'. I was just after advice. If there's been any wrong doing though.....k3lvc said:

I owned a Vauxhall diesel from 2008 to 2014. What were my losses? Nothing I can think of. Emissions fiddling didn't affect me using the car or the value.
