Nope - they go to private school paid for entirely by me. I dont expect (nor receive) a penny of government subsidy.

Nope - they go to private school paid for entirely by me. I dont expect (nor receive) a penny of government subsidy.

Presumably you travel entirely on private roads, employ private security, have your own arrangements for refuse collection, operate entirely offgrid, and have your own library in the East wing.

if you can pay for a private school for 3 kids - i think the tax on a company car should be the least problem.

If you’ve got the money the buy (lease whatever) a Tesla Model X they start at about £88k.  

I think there’s been some confusion from others they’ve just launched in the US the Model Y 7 seat version the model Y is not yet available in the UK or Europe we waiting for the factory to be built in Germany we might get it by the end of the year. They’ll cost about £45k plus I think. 

Alternatives are thin on the ground look at the offerings from Merc, Audi and BMW x3i. Then there’s the Skoda Enyaq due in the summer.

You are thinking about the Y, we've had our 6 seater X since 2017. 

It hasn't been problem free but 90%+ of issues were related to poor PDI which Tesla is still not good at. The car is now 3.5 years old and done 40K, and am planning to keep it till its at least 8 years old. Providing cost is bearable there isn't another family wagon like it on the roads, and unlikely anyone will make a car like this again ever (even Tesla).

I gave the interior a clean recently and it still looks 'as new', the only other car I would swap our X for is a Taycan - but that isn't even proper saloon let alone have any where the utility of the X.

@Newnoel If you are going to order an X, wait till end of Q1, Tesla will tell you they don't do 'deals', but their delivery numbers are picked over more than any other company so come the end the quater they will often throw in all kind of deals - these have ranged from 'free for life supercharging' to taking 10%+ off the price for inventory cars - which on a near £100K is a reasonable saving.

The iPace is also a fine car, and I suspect you can get better deals on.......but once you are use to power doors all round (including the driver door) its hard to go back to car where you have to open the doors manually - Its a nuts car and really does redefine what cars should/can do, like keeping up with a Ferrari whilst in a near 3 ton SUV
