Letter of Claim received from DCB Legal

You say your son is not planning to return to the UK 'anytime soon'.
If he is not planning to be seeking credit, e.g. a mortgage, etc., in the UK for the next six years, then a County Court Judgment will not affect him.
In that case, it might be an idea to do nothing.2 -
Le_Kirk I will write to MOTO as you say its got 50/50 chance. What worries me is IF I can get an address for him abroad (if I can track him down) and then send it to DCB, if their letter does not arrive to that address in time for my Son to reply I worry that court action/CCJ will be taken in his absence.

But if hes not in the UK for six years it wont matter! Thats what youve been told already.
Emailing DCB would be the obvious idea, then they would get teh address as soon as you have it...2 -
MOTO have previously cancelled due to drivers falling asleep to rest, and genuinely not seeing a sign telling them about any 2 hour maximum.Jackson40 said:Le_Kirk I will write to MOTO as you say its got 50/50 chance. Be really emotional in your email and tell them where your son is and that you are scared of bailiffs and his credit rating being ruined, and can they please step in and cancel it because you know about the circumstances (because your son told you ages ago) and can honestly say he took a rest and did not abuse the services. He didn't realise that this horrific company CP Plus would threaten his parents' peace of mind or could sue him but on the other hand, he certainly does not contractually owe the ludicrously high sum of £170.
Say that it is making you feel ill, you are crying as you type and feel l that you can never use a MOTO Service Station again...PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi, I have emailed MOTO and appealed as advised and received this reply...."I am forwarding your message to our appeals team where it will be investigated. However, we suggest that you appeal following the instructions shown in the letter from DCB to ensure your Notice is placed on hold while your appeal is being considered."
1. Do I phone DCB or email them? What do I say or ask?
2. There is a reply form at the bottom of the letter saying Name (Son's), Reference and - 'I request that a copy of the reply form and financial statement is sent to the following address: Signed / date.' -- What does that mean ? What do I do? I do not have my Sons address and he cannot sign. Thank you0 -
Never phone, there are bullies on the other end.Jackson40 said:Hi, I have emailed MOTO and appealed as advised and received this reply...."I am forwarding your message to our appeals team where it will be investigated. Tell them you are seeking debt advice and to put on hold for 30 days
Ignore the forms, such personal information is not for the eyes of those who wish to scam.
This is simple. Let's see what MOTO says and come back here1 -
NEVER phone. NEVER phone.
You need documentation. Phone calls dont give you that
1) Instruct them with the debt deny and mention landowner cancellation potentially
2) No, you do not use the reply form.2 -
A telephone conversation cannot be orovYou never know how far you can go until you go too far.1

Do I need to wait a little to email DCB. The 'Letter of Claim' is dated 13/01/21 and have 30days. Don't know how long MOTO's appeals team will take to come back.beamerguy said:

Also you say "Tell them you are seeking debt advice and to put on hold for 30 days" - Do I say just that or do I need to say more at this point?
Do I need to tell them I am dealing with it and the reason why? (they wouldn't know my Son is not writing the email at this point if I don't say who its from and from my email address)0 -
No , do not wait more than a fortnight or so to write to dcb legal
Yes you say that , in the defendants name of course
You can tell them that the landowner has requested the matter be placed on hold
I wouldn't be revealing that you are dealing with it , let them assume what they like2
