Any recommedations on flights? Mainly connection times, past experience with 1hr 15mins was not enough and had me running  - due to collecting luggage and going through security again - I had like 2 mins spare in the end.

Side note: Flight prices have increased  :open_mouth:

What's your most convenient airport? Obvs you can do direct from LHR, but as that doesn't appear to be a consideration, I'm guessing you're in the regions?

I don't mind London, easy train access, done it last time, different destination than Vegas.

My search was only London, may expand the search to other airports that are closer.  I wasn't aware of direct, unless not searching as thought it was more expensive.

No worries. So random dates in June, the BA and Virgin direct flights from LHR come in at £661 and £651 respectively.

They are amongst the cheapest flights that day 👍🏻

re: connecting airports, there are too many considerations tbh. Depends on time of day, and the specific airport, but what I would say is short connections are too risky for me in current climate as you have to clear immigration and we’ve had mixed experiences entering America recently (2 x horrendous wait, 1 not so bad).

Not a bad price for direct, will narrow search to direct.

I did a short connection going, and was a mad rush, if it wasn't for the fact I had to get my luggage first, it would have been ok, but the stress night before - working out the connecting airport layout plans for gates etc not worth it.  Coming back was for 4 hours, that was great.

The issue with connections either finding 1 that is great but the other is either too short or too long.

    £100 for luggage??? Ouch!!!

Unless it's for a month or so, hand luggage is fine for us. We've just done two weeks fly drive round the Western states with hand luggage only - no issues at all.
  • Hi, can I ask those that have done DUB-LHR-LAS and return advice on a connection from Dublin to my local airport LBA. Is 2 hours connecting time enough? It will be a separate ticket so we will need to collect luggage from the LHR-DUB then check in for the Ryanair flight DUB-LBA. I believe we will need to go from terminal 2 to terminal 1 aswell.
    Thank you.
