I found that Uber rides were about $11 Cosmo to Encore. However, we got one night that was a dodgy old Honda with seatbelts in the back that didn't work. I'd seen other people get into Teslas at the ride pickup. From then on I went for the Tesla option which was around $15 a trip.
I think we had the same car last night. Big dent down 1 side and my seatbelt was broke😂
We got picked up by a Tesla from Town Square and he put it on self drive for a bit to show us how it worked
Have you seen the completely automated “Motional” ones going around. Think they’re provided by Lyft?

    (has a chaperone in them)

We had one about 3 years ago when they were trying them out. You randomly got offered to try one it for a free ride. The chaperone takes over as soon as the car gets within hotel boundaries
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

    Here we are back home.

So after about 47 trips  starting in 1990 I have decided that there will be no more. We are done with Vegas.

I just can't accept the way this place has gone. It's been brewing for a few years now starting when Vegas no longer had any interest in it's gamblers, and focusing on the weekend SOCal kids.

The penny pinching and attempts to extract money every way they can, both the hotels and restaurants has made it an unacceptable place to spend our money.

Resort fees, the visitor tax, charging to park your car (even for hotel guests), TITO tickets that you have to redeem within 30 days and not dispensing the change, having to play max credits at bar top poker just to get a free drink, most strip  tables now paying 6/5 instead of 3/2 on blackjack, disappearance of cocktail waitresses, restaurants charging for bread, adding another layer of tax onto the check.

They are welcome to it, I'm sure the place will survive without us

It’s the 12% added to hotel bills to
help pay for the football stadium

I hadn’t heard of that. It’s a bit rubbish isn’t it. Is it all hotels, or just the MGM ones?

    hi
and thanks for the   info stoneman!   it seems your not the only one whom  feels   vegas is not as fun? as it used to be? and now a vistor  tax? shakes head. I often    get  a *vegas buzz* feeling  and   wanna    book up asap  and try  find a good deal (which i am struggling   with at the minute) and well with  recent posts.  and MORE exspenses  which you have stated  .and dont even mention the   resort fees.. you do kinda wander...
    all the best!

    It's actually 13.38% and not 12%.

I've just had a look at my Encore bill. My room rate was $220 one night. Then there was room tax of $29.44, a resort fee of $45 and resort fee tax of $6.02. That's an extra $80 / 36% on the room rate and one of the reasons I won't be going back soon.

Luckily Wynn and Encore didn't charge for parking. I did notice on the drinks menu at the pool though that there was an additional 20% service charge for waitress service and I have a feeling they still expected a tip. I sent OH the 30 second walk to the bar to get our own drinks to avoid the service charge.

It's paying an extra third on things like hotels and restaurants that really puts me off the US now. Restaurants seem more expensive but then you have the extra almost 10% tax and a 20% tip which makes the price ridiculous.
