Sounds like your Phone provider's DNS , you could change your DNS depending on your phone.

Why not use the app?
The app is an absolute Godsend if your phone falls into the wrong hands. In a single click, a would-be identity thief gets what could take hours to determine (if at all) i.e. the owners surname and forename, guaranteed to be correct.
The right question here is, is the phone encrypted? Do you have to enter a pin/password/fingerprint to actually boot the phone up after turning it off and on again?
