Who are 'they' and what are you expecting?jordan91 said:Hi guys. Quick question.
I sent off my defence and it says it has been received on the MCOL. Are they likely to respond to me via a letter or an email and how long does it usually take? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

When you read the newbies thread, which tells you every single step,of the court process, what other questions do you have?2
-
I was just asking in case somebody else could speak from experience about how long it took to get some paperwork. That is all.0
-
You know from the newbies thread that the C has 28 days to decide to continue, once they receive your defence, so that gives you a starting point
Yo ucould also have reviewed a dozen or more threads yourself, to find the answer through research. That is a good skill.1 -
Hey guys.
So I have been waiting to hear back from either the court or the claimants regarding my defence. Yesterfay was the 28 day deadline and this was the day the claimants got back to me with the following email.Dear Sirs,
Having reviewed the content of your defence; we write to inform you that our client intends to proceed with the claim. The Court will direct both parties to file directions questionnaires in due course. In anticipation of that, please find attached a copy of which has been filed with the Court. Without Prejudice to the above, in order to assist the Court in achieving its overriding objective, our client may be prepared to settle this case - in the event you wish to discuss settlement, please call us on 0203 434 0433 within 7 days and make immediate reference to this correspondence.Kind Regards,
I am yet to receive an email or a letter from the courts with my Directions Questionaire. Should I have received this by now or is this likely to come in the coming weeks? Should I contact the courts myself?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

You get it following the PPC's confirmation with the court that they wish to proceed. The court may have only just received that confirmation in parallel with you. You can always check your MCOL history to see where it's all at.jordan91 said:Hey guys.

I checked my MCOL before posting this morning and it said the latest document was Acknowledgement of Service but just wanted to make sure I had not missed a step.

The steps are simple
You use the MCOL website and CCBC phone line to check on progress
No point asking us , we don't work at the CCBC
Bear in mind that paperwork can take time , so the CCBC may be a few days out of date in catching up , so it depends on them receiving the paperwork , not when they update the computer. Your emailed defence was in that same boat , the day it was received boat1
