As mentioned, it's probably better to go ahead and just buy a new battery, cheaper for your car than buying a decent charger.

    You've had the answer already.

The clicking when you try and crank the engine is the startor motor relay clicking. This is because there's not enough power in the battery to energise the relay fully.

The relay (a switch) is energised by a small power load from the ignition circuit (on the key) to open the relay, so a heavier load can power the startor motor. When power to energise it is low it'll open and close rapidly (clicking) and stop the heavy load side that powers the startor motor (there's not enough power to do both).

Modern cars don't Whir Whir Whir slowly on the starter motors like old cars did years ago when the battery was low, when the battery is too low you get the clicking relay when it's flat it can't even energise the relay, so you get nothing (no clicking).

Either charge the battery up with a charger, or if the battery is older than 5 years old it's probably wiser to buy a new one.

Then once it's up and running, use your multimeter to check the alternator is charging the battery (search online for help on that).
