OP are you out of contract or within 30 days of end .
If so negotiate with BT  ,#Cancel any services you dont use .
    Good suggestion

I negotiated BT down to 24.99 for a 24 month contract, although they tried knocking it down to thirty odd quid to start with. Everything else should be more or less the same (I hope). Avoids hassle. 15 min call to  0800 783 1401 in total.

I didn't even need to call BT. They offered a renewal via my account. Now paying £22.55/month for line rental (evenings and weekends) and Fibre 1. Main drawback, like your renewal was agreeing to a 24 months minimum term.

Presumably that means free evenings and weekends?

I don't think my deal is particularly good now, because BT slipped in 20p/minute for calls without me realising it. I use an over-ride number such as 18185 for most calls, but some people have  blocking on all but specific BT numbers, so it refuses any number with the prefix!

Pretty mediocre deal as no Mastercard/cashback I'm guessing.
My aunt switches between BT brands (BT,Plusnet and EE) each time for the new customer offers.

OP. can you tell me how much cheaper is plusnet vs bt? I'm with talktalk and just wondering if I'm getting a good price. (£31.00 pcm. broadband not fibre.landline and anytime calls) thanks.

BT were unwilling to move on their offer.  Plusnet were unable to connect me to sales and were useless.  The Plusnet offer mentioned in MSE doesn't seem to be on their site so I couldn't join it by Internet. Besides I had only until tomorrow to move from BT, so I needed to confirm this would be possible by phone.

So I chose NowTv fibre as Mohammed1111 suggested with anytime calls.  Unfortunately, it means setting up a new router, so that will be fun.

I wasn't able to sort the 18185 overide issue, with a BT number I often call, so the anytime calls should be useful.
  • Another note or warming for those changing to a different provider.  When BT changed me to the 24.99 deal they accidentally stopped blocking on incoming International calls, and my phone has been ringing with multiple silent International calls.  I've since asked them to re-block and not received anything today.

However, when I change to the new provider in a week, it appears I won't be able to block International calls, so I may have stop the transfer.

A call blocker type phone like the old BT8500 8600 can block international calls .

Yeah someone suggested that to me.  However, the ones I looked at worked by examining the initial numbers only, and I couldn't see any pattern in the International calls.  Can the international calls get around ID that using over-rides?  Presumably call identification would need to be activated.
