  • @getmore4less You appear to have missed the point that @merchcon55 didn't seem to appreciate there were two sets of documents (maybe you missed it because I couldn't be bothered to type all the html code. Although both are on the page you linked, the point of my post was to highlight/emphasise that there were two sets of documents, which you could have done when suggesting he fixed his link!).
    Wow Phones4Chris. Chill.

I'm quite chilled thank you :s  there was absolutely no need to repeat that, it's done and dusted!
  • Another cheapish one, although not true PAYG

£3 pcm. I was with Vectone for a while and did have to contact Tech. Support to get a PAC (Vectone had a bit of a reputation for this). Given the changes in the rules and legislation over the last couple of years, it might be OK now.
Still more than I need though - that's why 3 was ideal.
  • Just found this thread as my parents mentioned to me today that they've had this notification from Three about their 321 rates going in the near future.  After a bit of research I was looking to recommend 1pmobile to them as the next best option for them (they are both pretty low rate users and wouldn't make much sense to move them to a monthly bundle), however I have spotted via another site that the Data Reward PAYG SIM appears to be retaining the 321 pricing structure.  Even when checking Three's current T&C's pages for PAYG data it still mentions 3p/2p/1p as the out of bundle rates.  I think they both have some credit to use up anyway, but once that is done (and assuming the Data Reward SIMs are still operating at 321) I will probably move them over to that, albeit via a temporary port to EE and back again.

Order a couple of data reward sim anyway so you have them ready.11

I have ordered the 20p for 2 O2 classic as an option.

Also look at the sky mobile £42 option should be calls text and 100mb data for at least 3 years unless they do a three.

If you read a few posts back, you'll see that until very recently (and it seems *after* some people had already been informed of the increase) the Ts and Cs for 3/2/1 reflect the original rate. What I mean to say is, Ts and Cs usually reflect the current situation, and rarely mention what may happen in the future.

2 X O2 (Activate by Dec 2021) in hand for transfers if needed.

  • I was also wondering if Three are breaching their contract. The wording on the packaging that the 321 SIMs came in says, “Your rates of 3p/min, 2p/text and 1p/MB of data last as long as your Top-up - this lasts until the last penny is spent”. I took this up with Three and asked them to honour the 321 rates until I had used my existing credit but they were insistent that the new rates would kick in on 16th Feb. Jon81uk, leadhead, NFH and smt37 have all raised other good points about contract beaches which help put together a case.

I’m reminded of the actions of Santander a few years ago. They wanted to start charging for a business bank account that was originally advertised as ‘free forever’. Various forums suggested making as many complaints as possible and threatening to take each one to the Ombudsman, an action that would cost Santander every time. They quickly backtracked!

  • I phone the Canaries at 3p per min with Three at the moment as it is in the same bracket as Spain. The new rates coming in have separated the Canaries from Spain and put them in the highest charge band so the rates will be going up to £1.50 per min, a massive 50 times more. I had this confirmed by online chat today. Spain seems to be staying at 3p so just to let anyone else know who may phone the Canaries .... Beware.

I contacted 3 about this tonight via their call back option. I was put in touch with someone I could hardly understand (Cumit), he then said he would put me in touch with someone who could answer my question. After hanging on for 15 minutes, the line went dead...(possibly a deliberate tactic to put people off cancelling)
My question was.....My wife topped up this account by £10, a few days before this 300 to 400% increase was announced, how will she be refunded any outstanding balance when she leaves.....I notice that under normal circumstances, if you leave 3, you lose any outstanding credit.....but these arent normal circumstances, 3 have changed her agreement drastically, surely they HAVE to refund any balance....Is there any one who HAS cancelled that has also received any credit balance that they had before the announcement.......and if not, how can we make 3 refund any credit they hold belonging to us.

Its not clear what happens to your credit if you stop use of the service.

Under normal circumstances it says, if you terminate your contract, then you lose any credit balance you have......BUT THIS ISN'T NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES..... If it were I would stay with them......Surely, because they are breaking their contract with me, and the cridit I have put on the phone is not going to be used for what It was intended to be for....ie £10 would have got my wife 500 texts. now it only gets 100....which is clearly not what it said when the phone was topped up.....I tried again to get through to them, but the chat line just went off(what a surprise).....How do we all get a full refund of all credit that we put on our phones BEFORE they announced this huge increase .Surely the LAW prevents this theft of credit

After to-ing and fro-ing emails with Three,(with a gap of around 6 days between each reply) they started asking for non existant account numbers, asking for non existing memorable words and referring to things which were totally irrelevant, clearly playing for time (hoping I think, that my wife would use the phone after the deadline, and in doing so, accepting the new T and Cs,) I finally got somewhere.
I had already opened a case with the Ombudsman(altho they couldnt further it, until 8 weeks after my initial complaint  had passed, or Three admitted we were at "Deadlock").
Looking for a bit more advice, I filled in a form with Resolver, I thought i'd seem somewhere that Three wasn't in the Resolver scheme, but Resolver would still give advice.....surprisingly, Resolver submitted my complaint to Three and the advice was to get in touch with Three via their chat line. I did this, put my case again, got offered a few different deals, but nothing anywhere near the deal that would give us the amount of texts/calls that our £13 would have given us on the 321 tariff. The guy talked to his supervisor, and in the end I got him to admit, we were at Deadlock.....This was good enough for me, as it meant the Ombudsman could now put my complaint to Three.
I submitted all my evidence to the Ombudsman, and its in their hands now..
I will let you know of the decision.

    Couponing....."every little hurts"

But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.
