You should only pay tax on that at 20%.  NI is done for each job individually so under £600 would not have any charged.  So £500 gross should get you take-home at £400.  You should be safe for a couple of years with no NI, but I suspect with all the HMRC stuff now online that this gov will look at all those people having several jobs which don't pay enough to be NIable & see their next money grab.
Ah thank you for confirming this! Im not 100% what the cap was for NI on another job

    Afternoon all!

Myself and OH have done nothing all weekend, I haven't even left the house. No money spent either. Told OH about the job and he reacted how I thought. He doesn't understand why I want another job and I should just "pay my debts" kind of annoying, but I also told him it means I get to save more now for Christmas rather than be skint 24/7. It does annoy me sometimes but I'm determined to prove him wrong and be out of debt ASAP!

OH has gone out for an hour or so, so I'm going to have a cuppa and a nice hot bubble bath!

Hi Jade, does your OH have debt, if not maybe that’s why he doesn’t understand the need for you to clear it so you have extra money each month.

I went a walk to Tesco to get my steps in for the day then I’ve just lazed about all afternoon watching tv. My son was away a boy’s weekend so now I’m having a mad rush to do the housework that I’ve not bothered about all weekend 🤣🤣.
