Thanks very much. I’ll take a good look at that thread.0

As above , if you wait for something from a court you will get a default CCJ , due to not returning or emailing your DQ back to the CCBC
At the moment there is no Court , you haven't nominated a court yet
In a nutshell , you haven't read the what happens and when posts linked in the newbies FAQ sticky thread
DQ stage from the CCBC in Northampton is next , not court letters !!
Read , research , learn1 -
Thanks, I am trying, I’m just finding it all quite stressful as am so unfamiliar with it all and am feeling a little intimidated by these court proceedings. But I will read up on all the very helpful information on the forum and try and figure out as much as I can. Thanks1

Just double checked my MCOL account and it states that the DQ was sent on 4th Feb (I presume by post, as cannot see it online, perhaps I will call the CCBC to check) and from what I’ve read I then get 14 days from date of service to return it. Have re-visited the suggested thread and will follow the steps there as soon as I receive the DQ.0

No need to wait , but it is in the post , it will come as a letter , like the claim form did
Download a PDF copy , fill it in , email a copy to the ccbcaq email address where the Defence went
Email or post a second copy to the claimant
Job done
Then do what you said and wait for court letters from the local court you nominated on the DQ
This is explained in the defence template post by coupon mad , so read it again3 -

Getting this document submitted today. Just want to check I should definitely say ‘No’ to a paper hearing? Thanks I’m advance0 -
If you want to lose, go for a hearing on papers! If you do this, you will be without a voice and have to rely on a solid defence and a well-crafted witness statement. ALWAYS best to be there (if only on a phone/video) in order to defend yourself against the lies evidence put forward by the PPC/solicitor.3

Thank you, I do recall reading somewhere that ‘on papers’ was a no-go. I will not agree to the same. All other questions seem straightforward enough. Many thanks again for your help.0

In almost every case of a paper hearing reported here, the defendant has lost. Developing and submitting legal papers is what solicitors do, it's their day job, it's what they've spent years in training for. I'd suggest they have the advantage in an 'on the papers' hearing. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
