I really do feel for you, being in a similar, though less cramped position😉. We completed in our sale (Shropshire) on Friday & are currently ‘camping out’ in friend’s relative’s property in N Wales.
My long held dream & original plan was to sell, rent for 6 months & explore various coastal areas of UK before choosing & making a permanent move. BUT, COVID & it’s ramifications made me rethink! I’ve given up on my dream😢 & we’re staying local. Hoping to move back to Shropshire very soon.
Not suggesting you do the same, as you’re obviously much younger than us & have children to consider. But I do think you need to narrow your focus to one or 2 areas & concentrate on finding your next home.

Of course, none of us knew it then, but the tourists who packed Cornwall and parts of Devon in the summer had very little effect at all on Covid data. Also according to the papers, the lads and ladettes who were partying on the beach in Exmouth were mainly locals.
Personally I would buy away from the beaches and tourist draws. The road I live on here does see a little tourist traffic, but only from those who know it can be just as quick as the clogged main route, or the ones sneaking into Devon and avoiding the police checks. The surf boards tend to be a give-away!
Nowt wrong with Salop if you keep out of the known flood areas.
