I looked at Ofgem and it states ""You cannot be charged for gas or electricity used more than 12 months ago if you have not been correctly billed by a supplier". So I've contact EDF again and put this to them. I've also raised a complaint with the energy Ombudsman. I think the calculations are now correct but they want to backdate it by 700 days.
Being Devil's Advocate I fear you are on dodgy ground because, on the evidence that they were given, EDF probably did bill you correctly.
It's not EDF's fault that you read the meter incorrectly.  Provided that you've now given them the correct reading and they've got their sums right, it doesn't seem to be covered by the back billing rules.

Leaving aside the incorrect readings, I'm not sure that would be right
I'm after some advice regarding an EDF utility bill.
Bit of background. I've had issues with EDF since joining them a couple of years ago. After submitting numerous readings and contacting them a number of times I didn't receive a bill for over 500 days. Some of this was subsequently written off in August 2020. ........................
As they failed to bill for 500 days, the Back Billing rule will apply. What's needed are the correct meter readings for the start of the 12 months to the date EDF actually produced a bill, was that in August 2020? (which subsequently has a portion written off. Was that for Back Billing btw?).
It might be that you have to agree an estimated reading for the gas at the start of that period BUT as you have provided kWh readings then they should be able to bill you directly for that to get the bills all square.
