I can't sign in!  I've tried my Sky username / password and the details on the back of the router.  Grrr!
It's not your sky account login. The default router login is admin/sky
    That doesn't work either!
Honestly I feel like throwing this printer in the bin!!!  So much for helping with the weight of home schooling!

Instead of sky as the password try your WiFi password.

    That worked, I'm in!

Yes, the "Synchronise 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Settings" box is ticked.

OK, it may be that your printer is too far away and struggling to see the network via the 2.4Ghz frequency. Here's what you can do. Still under the 2.4 Ghz settings, uncheck the synchronise setting and go to the SSID name and change it by adding something like _24 to the end of it. Click on Apply then go to the printer and see if you can now see that new SSID name and try and connect to it. You may need to reconnect any other device, such as your PC if it's currently connected via the original 2.4ghz SSID.
  • Thank you.

I'll try that at lunchtime, don't want to lose access on my pc right now as I'm also attempting to do my day job (and home schooling)!

OK, let us know how it goes. I'm not going anywhere 😉

Also, it may be easier to change the SSID of the 5ghz channel (same instructions, just do it under the 5ghz tab), that way you'll probably only have to reconnect a few devices including your Sky Q box etc.

Wouldn't most device be on the 5GHz network rather than the 2.4GHz one? Nearly everything connects on the 5GHz network by default these days does it not?

Not really, I'd still say even now the majority of devices are only single band 2.4Ghz.

It just does not seem to tie up with personal experience that is all, I had a look at my network and only one* of the 22 devices are on the 2.4GHz network.

*The control unit for an electric radiator.

Do you really have 22 devices connected or is it single devices showing up multiple times?

Apart from my laptop, via a USB wifi dongle, and my Amazon Firestick and Roku device I don't have any other devices capable of 5ghz and I'd say I'm a fairly typical household.
