Good to know it doesn't revolve around 1st Jan process. Maybe enough moans will facilitate a corrective action by Halifax.
So, has anybody on the £5k option actually got a 'You are on track' ?

The message saying that the balance was lower than £5,000 on "an invalid day" points to an error in the date processing, which probably occurred because of the change in year. If I had got this message, was convinced it is an error, and if I didn't have too many accounts [ahem], I would raise a formal complaint right now, to jump the queues of complainants.

Not here got the invalid date, I had not transferred out and have had plus 5k in the account each day this month.

Likely IT issue then. I'll wait to see if they fix it without my input ... for the same, ahem, reason as Colsten.

I am very very very 'ahem', but did not opt for keeping £5K in the accounts. I am glad I chose the DC approach for my accounts, and am confident that it remains viable if Halifax continue to offer it for another year after the initial offer expires (May this year).

Apologies for deviation from the subject of the thread.

NB. Using the DC approach obviously doesn't protect you from programming deficiencies.

I'm also a follower of the DC approach, but as I said, I haven't got a DC for (just) this account & unlike my (several) other Halifax RW acs, it doesn't offer me an online option to replace the 'lost or stolen' D card.

For the same 'ahem' reasons I didn't want to draw attention by pursuing Hfax, so opted for the equivalent of 1.2% after tax on just this ac. As savings interest tax payer, is equiv to 1.5% taxable.

Otherwise I'd have taken the £5 pm AND be earning 1.2% for now on the freed £5k.
  • I don't know if it's connected, but when I received my Halifax statements for my 2 Reward accounts last week, both of them were dated Jan 2020, not 2021.
That could be what screwed up their computer systems?

I also noticed that on our statements, perhaps HG Wells is involved in the IT Dept.
I have used the App to message them but haven't heard back yet.

Just checked my messages and the reply says they are aware that some people are having problems but they will be sorted.
