Well done, shame on Kia though!
Remember that Kia dealerships are not owned or run by Kia UK.
They are independent businesses, often part of large national multi-marque multi-site chains, who simply pay Kia UK for a franchise to sell and officially service Kia cars.

Just shows how crooked dealerships are. The manufacturer won't pay so we'll try and charge the customer. Just say no.
So if Kia decline the warranty claim, do you think it's fair that a dealer has to cover their labour costs on the work involved?

The customer shouldn't get involved in arguments between the dealers and the importers. The customer has a warranty and should get the car repaired free of charge. The dealer and the importer can fight between themselves.

Providing that the fault is something that is covered by the warranty and wasn't caused by misuse, neglect or deliberate action.

You're the type that drops your phone down the toilet and then takes it back to the shop handing it to the assistant insisting on a replacement with 2 days left on the warranty.  And yes, I have as a former retail manager in a phone shop had this happen.

How much did you charge them for your diagnosis?

I told them that it was not covered by warranty as water ingress never is.  If a customer insists on something being looked at in these circumstances, they will be charged a fee.  This customer had the attitude that despite their own negligence they should get a free replacement.

Not everything is covered by a warranty and sometimes there has to be diagnostic checks done to check.  Do you think that if you did something to make a part fail that it should just be repaired at someone else's cost?

They have done a repair in on the fuel flap and didn't mention any cost for the repair.
I did buy the car brand new on PCP and its a couple of weeks shy of 2 years old with just under 17K on the clock.

Picking up on an old thread and glad to hear you are sorted now.
Just felt like adding several observations as a Kia owner myself, and just in case anyone is interested enough in the future to refer to this thread.
The Kia Owners forum is a source of very relevant and useful information containing I would say a good balance of dialogue on the service levels of many Kia dealers and Kia as a car manufacturer from a customer service perspective.
Kia dealers are mainly independent operating under a franchise arrangement, although there are one or two dealerships which are actually owned and operated by Kia. Kia do seem to have paid a lot of attention to standardisation of practices and documentation throughtout the dealer network, although I have heard it mentioned that there is not a universal car database like other manufacturers have (e.g. VW) which is convenient if not essential to track a car's history.
The services I have had undertaken by my own Kia dealer were always accompanied by a standard completion checklist with all operations listed and ticked off if appropriate. I presume this checklist is standard throughout Kia UK as they do have fixed price menus through their service plans. This list includes an underbody and exhaust inspection which would have been relevant from your own requirements and should have been carried out as a matter of course.
You may find it useful to register with the Kia Owners forum and I am including a link if you find this useful.
