i wonder if people who are selling would like to comment on what price they are acheiving compared to their asking price around the country at the moment.
where i am in east mids its seems to be about 5% below asking at the moment.
could you put where you are as well please.(which town/city and area of the town) to give a better picture as i am sure different areas are performing differently.
also buyers info as well would be interesting.

I think Doozergirl had a link to a website that tells you exactly that.
I got 100% back in February, but no doubt it would be a lot lower now.Been away for a while.0 -

You want direct evidence from people on the board that are selling now? I'd ask the direct question in your title - eg. "What percentage of your asking price did you acheive?" Shame no-one's answered yet, people love talking about themselves usually, LOL!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

99.43%
Put on Market beginning of may, agreed offer 3 weeks later, completed at beginning of July.
No idea what % properties are achieving at the moment but it all depends on the asking price. Priced to sell and you'll achieve nearer 100%. Price unrealisticly and you won't get anywhere near.0 -
also if you don't mind could you put where you sold.:question:0

20% over asking price in March, though that was in Scotland so it doesn't count.
I'm not sure that you are going to be able to get a rough guide even. It so much depends on how sensibly the property is priced in the first instance and on the owner's circumstances. Two identical houses will not neccessarily get the same price.
We are looking to buy at present and have had owners prepared to reduce by 20% or more, equally we have had owners who aren't prepared to reduce the price at all, plus a whole range in between.
Agents in our area are using 10% as a rough guide when advising owners who have had the house on since summer, but most sellers won't take the advice.0 -

i do realise it may not be accurate, was just out of curiosity.
i think most people are probably being realistic about their prices.
