Only have "Gmail and my username" at that point at left hand side of WLM.
Please ignore MY profile - the message there is not relevant (sorry!)
Back to the issue -  It looks like you have a Gmail email address specified in WLM.  Unless you have 2 different Gmail addresses it looks like...
Your Yahoo mail was forwarded to Gmail specified in WLM
Gmail is NOT forwarded to WLM because it is already specified in WLM (Gmail email is picked up directly in WLM whether by POP or IMAP and has nothing to do with forwarding.)
I really hope this makes sense.
If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.

The OP needs to update not only his email client, but, more than likely, his operating system.
Don't see why I need to update my mail client when it is working and I am very happy to continue with it.
    Not sure what operating system?
    Windows 7 Professional.
    Firefox 84.0.2 (64-bit)

WLM is no longer supported by Microsoft, which means it is no longer getting security updates. (and if you are using TLS for your emails, you may find that eventually stops working as email providers start to disable older versions of TLS)

It was advice, if you choose to ignore it that is your prerogative. As dan958j has said, you are an unsupported operating system and email client. Neither gets security updates. It's not about whether they are working or not.
At least now you've been told you can't claim ignorance of the situation should anything happen.

Just a type of encryption. As WLM no longer receives updates, it won't support modern encryption types. So you will either have to change email program to continue having encrypted emails, or just turn off the encryption when you start to notice your account can't sync due to the encryption bot being supported.

Basically, your email provider should be keeping up with modern security practices, whereas windows live mail won't.

TLS = Transport Layer Security (encryption standards, in layman's terms).    At the moment this comes in four different versions, the most recent of which is TLS 1.3, which was adopted in August 2018, long past the cut-off support date for Windows Live Mail.  Mail supports 1,0, 1.1 and 1.2.  But it doesn't (and probably never will) support TLS 1.3.

As providers upgrade their platform to depreciate (and eventually scrap) support for older TLS versions, Windows Live Mail will become unusable.  TLS 1.1 was depreciated in 2020.  It will only be a matter of time before 1.2 is depreciated and its all 1.3 or nothing.

In a nutshell:  You will be forced off Windows Live Mail at some point.  Not a matter of if, but when.  I'd consider yourself lucky if you're still able to use it by the end of 2022.
