Couple of weeks ago I received notification from Gmail that forwarding of emails would be turned off sometime in January, (have lost the email about this), unless signing up for Google Pro.
Can anyone shed any information re this?
How much would Pro cost?
I use Windows Live Mail and would like to keep on using it, any way around this?

That's an interesting and confusing email.  First, anybody else heard about "google stopping forwarding"?  News to me.
Totally unrelated (I assume). Windows Live Mail (WLM).  This is a very old program.  What's your exact problem with it?
If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.

I would have thought that it would be all over the net with people complaining if this was true. I've not had any email to that effect and neither has anyone else I know.
Was it a genuine Google email?

Don't have a problem with WLM, just used to using, have a lot of folders in it and don't want/need to change.

Don't know if genuine or not, if no one else received one the can assume scam.
I did not click any links but cannot find the email now, must have deleted it.
    Hopefully everything will be OK.

I had an email to say that Yahoo were stopping forwarding emails, unless you upgraded to Yahoo Pro, so you may be confused about which mail provider the email came from.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

Mail forwarding is nothing to do with using an email client installed on your computer to look at emails.
  • If they just stopped the function wouldn't you just hit reply and then edit the 'to' section?

Yes I had one about Yahoo email as well, but not bothered about Yahoo as I very rarely use it.

My emails are sent to Gmail then auto forwarded to Windows Live Mail, the email I received said this function would stop unless I upgraded to Pro.

How could I do that if I don't know any emails received? I do not open Gmail on my desktop.
Edit "to" ? I don't know/remember the address for WLM.

What does 'My emails are sent to Gmail', and what does 'then auto forwarded to Windows Live Mail' mean?
Are you just trying to say that you have your gmail account set up in Windows Live Mail? (no forwarding)
